Exactly, decibels are not a simple linear scale. 1 db difference is actually quite a lot in general terms. Trying to judge or quantify differences between these tops with using sound meters is really not effective. I think as many have indicated the big differences are the ambient noise while...
It is a weight thing and to some extent a limitation issue. You can add it to the Wildtrak, but you cannot have it with the the light duty factory skid plates. Similarly can't get it with Sasquatch and other trims with Factory skid plates. Additionally ford seem to limit it on ordering on some...
Yep, it provides the equivalent of a drop down style tail gate to sit and chill or stack stuff while preparing for a hunt, fish or hike, food prep, whatever..... The drop down tail gate in one fo the things I miss the most about my new bronco versus my 95.
I totally agree, except for the spare. A good reinforced swing gate or even a quality steel bumper with a swing with a drop down tailgate would have been awesome and it wouldn't look so jeepish.
Yep, big difference in rolling on soft soil/grass versus a hard road and or a rocky off road hill. Did it roll over 5-6 times, well probably not. This road is a 25mph road, and it seems to be the location based on the debris stream and the people/law enforcement. It rolled over at least once...
The HOSS3.0 package is not just the Ford/Fox tuned Fox 2.5s. It also and more importantly includes an HD steering rack (same one used in the Bronco Raptor) and heavier duty tie rods. The capable steel bumper and the first two steel bash plates are also part of the package as opposed to the front...
Yes, that is the steering rack being the hardest thing to get programmed has finally been successfully added by quite a few people. There is a whole thread.
I got one of the first HOSS3.0s delivered. Yeah, July 14 reservation, what I thought was my second reservation (apparently credit card failure or something on my first edition reservation), that I 99’d a few times, but most importantly for the HOSS3.0 upgrade. steering rack being the big one for...
What is a non-functional amp? I mean are they trying to say it in poor Ford speak that it is non-functional for a sub or they added something that is just non-functional……
Yeah, bright white gel coat is usually titanium white which will make most other whites look more grey. Whites with blue or purple optical brighteners make standard whites look yellowish.
All the aftermarket instructions leave the straps, that I have seen. Would have assumed the factory did as well. Keeps the plates separated from the tank. Pretty stupid to leave the tank resting on the skids, especially the low quality oem ones.
Technically it does have straps. The tank skids, if equipped, use the same mounting point. good example of why it pays to research before ripping bolts out. old days we looked at diagrams in chiltons, etc., now you type in bronco skid plate removal......
Got the skids on. Real simple, great quality and fit. It was actually a pleasure to work under such a clean vehicle. Nothing falling all over me, not even any major grease on my hands and tools.
My only advice is on plastics like this they are notorious poor at bonding to epoxies. Epoxies are very low to ‘No’ vocs, and so at best with compatible substrates you get a mechanical bond by roughing it up. This is one of the many reason plastic welding exists.
Next edition are some aluminum plate and steel cross member skids. The gas tank skid is beefy. This wildtrak is equipped with the HOSS3.0 upgrade and I kept the capable front bumper because it is not bad and I wanted the fog light switch on the light cluster. It has the front two steel skids.
