This happened to my 22 Bronco Badlands back in May with only 5K miles. Went for an oil change and pulled off the skid to make sure everything looked good and there was a huge amount of oil on the skid. Thought the oil guys got sloppy but turned out it was a leaky front pinion seal.
Has anyone been to this OHV park? Been thinking of going at some point when the fall colors start coming in. Looks like they run mostly off of Facebook but I don’t have one.
Mostly curious if it’s good for the Bronco or primarily a SxS place.
I think it actually charges now rather than holding it at a set percentage when connected to wireless CarPlay albeit slowly.
The phone still heats up like crazy. My wife’s Google pixel has no issues though.
I know it’s not super useful but I had to drop the skid on my 2.3L. 4 bolts and slide it forward. Nothing bad about it. I imagine the 2.7L is similar where they want a skid to protect the oil pan from being cracked open like an egg.
That first part you circled was never removed on my install. Everything removed was to the right of that piece. As for the harness being stressed I didn’t have any issues and wasn’t concerned with it bending. Might be different if you have a 2.7L as I had the 2.3L. My main issues were with that...
There’s various videos that might help. I created this one when I did my install. That DCLM sits under the bracket and the plug portion faces the wheel well liner. I didn’t discard anything and reused the ground strap.
For anyone with a burning oil smell I would check out this thread/issue: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/front-differential-pinion-seal-leaking.49357/post-1929773
Front pinion seal is/was leaking and I had a layer of oil covering the oil pan bash plate that took a few shop rags to clean...
Mentioned the TSB to the service writer when I dropped off today. Said he couldn’t take the TSB # because they have to diagnose and look it up themselves. Anyone else have this happen or was he being a lazy bum?
I believe I have this issue too. Took the Bronco in for an oil change at 5300 miles and wanted to check their work so I removed the oil pan bash plate on my 2022 Badlands and there was oil everywhere. Originally thought they did a bad oil change job and didn’t clean up but the oil filter plastic...
