  1. Let there be power: Dual-battery setup? Other options?

Funny you mention this, I have an idea in my head for this exact thing that I haven't had time to fully mock up.
  2. Let there be power: Dual-battery setup? Other options?

I was hoping to hear back some results from testing out your setup. Sorry to hear it's not going well. Are you sure it's the voltage and not too high of an amperage that's shutting down the starter battery? The 135Ah DL+'s BMS has a cutoff at 150A, but the Bronco's alternator can go up and over...
  3. Phone charging pad issues - gets hot and doesn't charge iphone

Completely useless. You’re better off with a MagSafe charging mount.
  4. How is everyone securing or mounting their portable power?

Yes, that is likely a reason. Mine doesn't have an inverter built in (most of the stuff I run uses 12V) so I can get away with not having to worry about things heating up too much. I still added a temperature-controlled fan with an intake and exhaust to get air flowing through just in case.
  5. How is everyone securing or mounting their portable power?

Like I said, different power stations will have different rules depending on how they're designed. It might be structural (not able to sufficiently support the weight of the battery when sideways) or thermal (no proper ventilation) or some other reason, but LFP batteries on their own, given...
  6. How is everyone securing or mounting their portable power?

It's a Harbor Freight Apache 3800 case with a 100Ah LiFePO4 battery inside. I designed & built it specifically so it could be stored on its side, like I have it, or upright. Can't speak for all power stations, but LiFePO4 batteries are completely fine to be mounted sideways. Details of my build...
  7. Genesis Offroad - Quick Introduction & Overview of our Dual Battery Kits

Like I said, for powering something for an extended period of time, like a fridge, this system doesn’t seem like the best solution. It’d be much more effective to hook a DC-DC charger directly to the starter battery and have a dedicated battery bank in the cargo area.
  8. Genesis Offroad - Quick Introduction & Overview of our Dual Battery Kits

This kit seems like it’d work well for running a winch or some accessory lights, but I don’t see how spending $1,300 for what’s effectively 30ah of additional power makes sense for an overlanding setup with multiple things plugged in. That’s barely enough to run a fridge for half a day (assuming...
  9. Front parking sensors 90 degree part number

Maybe the've been updated, but all 4 sensors installed on my 2023's capable bumper were all the same (plugged in perpendicular to the bumper face, not parallel like OP is looking for).
  10. Easy Roof Light Bar Wiring DIY

I couldn't see what he was doing in the video, seems like he prefers to do electrical work in the dark. There is a little notch in that area on the leading edge of the weather stripping, which I assume is to snake wires over the lip there. Personally, I wanted the wires to remain secure...
  11. Baja Designs LP4 on Trailrax TRMR

That's what I mean, there's confusion around what's the top of the crossbar vs the front. Since that front crossbar is mounted at an angle, the wind deflector is mounted to the top/front and the lightbar is mounted to the top/rear. I'm pretty sure the Trailrax front wind deflector is mounted...
  12. Broaddict / Bad Product Vendor

There's a reason their account got removed from this forum and they now post under the BA OffRoad handle.
  13. Baja Designs LP4 on Trailrax TRMR

With the wind deflector on the Trailrax rack, it illuminates the hood a little but doesn't cause any glare.
  14. Baja Designs LP4 on Trailrax TRMR

Works great, lights up pretty much everything in the dark with minimal reflection off the hood (due to the recession behind the front edge of the wind deflector). I wanted something low profile so if I ever had to strap something long (e.g. lumber) to my roof rack, I didn't want the lights...

  16. Baja Designs LP4 on Trailrax TRMR

Holy cow, what a confusing thread... this is how the Trailrax lightbar mounts work (with the lightbar cutout):
  17. Let there be power: Dual-battery setup? Other options?

Sorry, I thought this was for the 2nd battery in a dual battery setup. Their specs do say they’re rated for 150A alternators. You’d need to run two of these in parallel to be able to handle the max output of the alternator. There may be other factors worth considering as well when switching the...
