I just want a basic functional simple hard top I can use seasonally. And add any basic roof rack I desire. At this point a barely care how it looks as long as it is manufactured reasonably well. The rally tops meets the requirements. It just shouldnāt cost near $5k. It is a $3k top.
I love the...
and invest resources more evenly. Manpower and research to provide adequate solutions for early adopters. It sure seems that very little of these aftermarket parts properly invest in the iterative design and testing cycle just to get products out the door. The early adopters are then put in the...
How do you like the rallytop? Is it durable? Have you had one of these before on a Jeep? How long do they last?
I like the soft top just want the hard top for a few months. I donāt mind switching them. Just need something good quality and durable and not stupid expensive like some of them are.
Here are some shock length numbers compiled mostly by @Merc4x4. You need to be careful with numbers such as these and make sure they were measured from same reference points. Mounting surface to mounting surface, and usually bolt CL for a mounting eye.
Max droop, as measured by accutune, for the onset of CV axle binding during wheel rotation for OEM SAS was 24.3ā. Max allowable CV angle from ford shop manual is 18 degrees. This doesnāt necessarily mean CV binding just a Ford limit with likely some safety factor.
Attached are some...
WOWā¦ A square cross-section broncbuster tierod brace. Surely this must be the way. I hear they are a bargain. Save some money with the wheel spacers so you can get the prized possession. Sounds like a win/win. š¤
Folks put wheel spacers on without knowing anything about scrub radius and king pin axis. If these are maintained similar to oem then geometrically no real difference. But that is not usually the case. Many add spacers and just increase positive scrub.
Nonetheless even geometrically proper...
I keep watching that @SierraBronco video. Amazing. That rear axle is totally free to move. I canāt imagine there is any binding anywhere. I also am starting to think the coilover pivot at the frame mount is a big player. In that set up the coilovers themselves must truly be the only limiter for...
havenāt fully followed sierrabroncoās complete build. What do you mean by lowered?
Yeah I think the RJ rear torsion bar is only 0.85ā diameter. Stiffness is a function of diameter to 4th power. Even a bump to 1ā dia makes a big difference.
@SierraBronco I was just kidding. Thatās what makes this forum entertaining.
might not have been welded on precisely to spec. I could see that causing an issue. Curious what specs Rk provided?
The sway bar will provide resistance to articulation by torsional stiffness of the main bar, ie one wheel up and other down. It contributes no significant stiffness when axle moves laterally.
lack of lateral stiffness is the concern. If it were possible to properly triangulate the upper links...
yes you need the correct backspacing to clear the sway bar. A 315 wide tire with +30 offset has interference. This is the only reason I have not yet added this. I donāt want to increase scrub radius or buy new wheels.
