The Bronco is capable of towing it, you just want to be able to open the swing gate when YOUR TRAILER doesn't allow room for that. So you went with like an 18" extension on the hitch? Torque is multiplied by distance, MULTIPLED, so, ya your receiver is flexing. What is really scary is what...
THE BRONCO WAS DESIGNED TO GO OFFROAD.
The better question is what "genius" buys an offroad vehicle then complains about towing with it?
Buy a bigger drop hitch, lift your factory suspension (to level your trailer out), and stop complaining about a TERTIARY function of the Bronco. OR just...
Not to take anything away from your BRaptor and it's capabilities, but those Jeeps you were running with didn't look to be super hardcore wheelers. You don't put 20s on a rock crawler unless you're running like 43"+ tires, just saying... No way my Badlands on 37" MTs keeps up with the guys...
Here is the deal, you can do the faraday cage but all they have to do is put a receiver on a magnet then attach it to your car. It records the key responses next time you drive, then they come back the next day, get their receiver, make a new key then walk up and drive it off.
Don't park...
I want to take a second and modify my post install review. I've had a few more days to dial things in and I would say 8/10 volume under 22, 7.5/10 volume over 22.
The big difference for me was garbage in, garbage out. I normally run my input off of Spotify and I'll search and play songs off...
Ok, so I did my full install with the exact same components as OP and here is my review:
At say 22 volume and below: 8/10. Above 22 volume: 6/10. I like to jam out and the lack of volume at max level is definitely disappointing (and 100% a result of there only being 2x 4" speakers in the...
That almost has to be a config setting somewhere in Forscan. Maybe they hard coded it into the firmware of the DSP but I doubt it. Seems like something they would want to control if they changed speaker suppliers or something like that.
Is it worth the time digging into? Probably not, but...
You're right. Both are DSP processed signals anyway. I have dynamic control at my finger tips with the amp remote knob so it really doesn't matter. If I want I can always upgrade and add an A2B interface module down the road and amp everything.
My only debate in this whole thing is do I run the sub amp off of the kick panel inputs or from the sub inputs? Other than that question, 100% following the OP's build.
It will go fine. Just make sure that if you're using the adaptors from Amazon that the polarity is correct. They had some that went out that were backwards.
47 Pages, I think I should get some sort of medal for reading every single post! I do feel like I am sufficiently prepared for this upgrade, thank you all for your input. Looking at all the reviews from Bronco owners for these speakers at Crutchfield, they SO owe @Ksjrb03 some sort of kickback...
Ya all just knew my tax return is on the way, tryin to get me devoiced...
My only complaint is I wish you could have integrated the ACC bracket without relocating. Not a dealbreaker though... Checks off everything else on my list, first bumper to do so. I will be buying is at some point.
Cool install for sure, I guess if you're going out by yourself a lot this make sense. Long distance, going to be able to get someone for help.
As to the everyday use and practicality, I don't think you're going to find many trail group partners to communicate with via Ham. GMRS is the way to...
Nobody will be driving a B6G on the road in 50 years because the internal combustion engine will be an antique and only collectors will have ICE vehicles. Gas stations won't have gas in 50 years...
Issues with the automatic have been few and far between, the manual has had issues plus it's a lot easier to get into trouble with a manual on trails. All it takes is one missed gear one time on a difficult uphill and you've lost all your momentum and are in ton of trouble. Just not worth it...
