Those look nice, very similar to the Ford ones. The only thing that makes me leery is that I've got the AR magnums and when I wash the top I basically sidestep down the running board. I've almost walked off the edges a few times. If I put my foot on one of the three "ramps" on the Ford/Mabett...
I believe I've got some of the same going on in my new replacement top, just installed a couple weeks ago -- those waves on the side of the panel. I was washing it for the first time last weekend and noticed it. You only see it in certain lighting right? If you only see it in certain...
Solid tip, I've been wondering about that. The lid was the only part I was interested in due to the obscene cost of having to replace all the various dash parts (pad, lower trim, and grab handles) and I thought the lid might be less comfortable due to the stitching. My elbow is always there...
Did you just get a new rear cap? I'd wager they'll install with the cap on. And I'd actually be more worried about them removing it and flipping it upside down to stick on a headliner given how flimsy these tops are to begin with. If you also got new front and mid panels, I'm sure they'll...
Nice. I'm bummed that all these aftermarket shocks add height, especially a bunch to the rear. I like the height of my non-SAS BL. I bought non-SAS for a reason, dammit.
Correct. Get the 6100's and reuse the stock springs. Don't pay for new springs. The 6100s will raise a non-SAS BL slightly even at the lowest setting. They are height adjustable if you want more lift.
2023, built Nov. 22. There may be some extremely minor seepage based on a slight dirt film that collects between the reservoirs and housing. It's nothing I can report at this point. Last year I started spraying the shocks with Boeshield after I saw the threads of reservoirs falling off.
I wonder if anybody has reported this to NHTSA. It's highly unusual for parts to fall off vehicles entirely. Their website asks for a VIN and I haven't had the problem (yet), so I can't help.
If you can wrap it, that is absolutely the best way to go. Why? MIC tops crack and bubble, sometimes years later. Paint it and you're S.O.L. if that happens to you.
If anybody bothers to read the threads about how much metal is being found in the rear diffs on these vehicles with less than 10k miles, they'll think twice about going without diff fluid changes well before the factory recommended intervals. Same goes for the t-case and trans. Roll the dice...
