She got a good bath today, no new paint or windshield chips since I put the body armor on. Been enjoying the summer and racking up a the miles. Just a hair under 13k at this point. MPG is at 18.4… I stated this before, but she has really turned into a “2 door wagon” to me. Back seats are down...
Not much of an update… when I hit 18.3 mpg, I decided I would spend some time driving it like I stole it… in the blink of an eye (thanks to the turbos) I was down to 17.1 mpg. Decided to use the cruise control and set to speed limit and I’m back up to 18.3 mpg. Took a heck of a lot longer to get...
I’m not a fan of the body armor look, but the hood protector I installed has worked well both covering existing chips and preventing more. I’m starting to see chips on the front edges of the fenders… oh well, problem solved!
They may have been intended for off road, but they work on the highway...
I just gonna put this here for me… I posted the pictures in their own thread already with the backstory.
I have all the supplies to attempt to make a black with orange stitching console cover, but the black is too black. Wish I could find the exact Ford marine grade black onyx vinyl.
I also...
They sell frame stiffeners that solve that issue… It seems to occur when a winch mount is raised above the frame to clear the adaptive cruse control sensor. Off center pulls don’t help.
I’ve never seen this. We park at the same restaurant every Friday and came out tonight to this. Jeep duck thing, but someone took the time to 3D print a Ford version… I have to be honest, I gotta keep it, lol!
Windshield chips and paint chips on the highway lead me to install one. At this point my only complaint is good shimmy. Other then that, daily high speed highway travel with no issue to date.
I have to be honest, other than the night I installed them, I have not used them. When it gets a little darker, earlier (fall time) I will go to one of the fields around here and adjust all my lights and take a few picture. That said, they seemed “wider” then stock.
I ended up with the Ford Performance light bar, but I gave the idea thought… I thought about mounting ditch lights up there, directly on one of the studs. I thought of bending a set of light bar brackets. I also thought about the KC bar and only mounting two or four round lights. In the end I...
Well I failed on this one… I did not want a dark black so I picked Charcoal Gray… clearly too light. Funny thing is that inside the house lighting it looks perfect, but in the Sun it is off. I wanted it to match the seats… I don’t think I will install it. May just order another one and try the...
No judgement either way… this was almost 20 years ago on my H3. I made homemade clamps from pipe hangers with heater hose spacers and quick spin knobs. This was my final configuration after using different variations of the clamp idea in other locations.
Well, you can pay for the Ford Performance brand or buy the Rigid direct version. I have all the Ford Performance lights on my truck, so I found a deal on them to stay with the theme…
