Mine came with the ford performance fairlead. Install on the capable bumper took longer than I thought it would but 5 hours through and through and I got it done.
You can side load it but it's more of a cover your ass move by Ford. None of the aftermarket winch mounts have a need for reprogramming (that I know of).
