Broncos shipped with the sub delete option (noted on window sticker) have all the wiring preinstalled. If you are buying components from a Bronco that had a functional sub with the same audio option as yours (Lux/B&O is different than standard) then they are totally plug compatible.
While I've only ever read instructions and watched videos and not *actually* done a brummel splice (yet) a consistent item has been the recco for a taper.
I guess I didn't understand why you told me to go shop for the same parts from Ford then? I didn't think they sold either but was just reading what you wrote.
Yikes! For that kind of $$ it *should* come with an actual Maybach handle, too. OP - it definitely does look good and addresses the "darkness" issue, hope it serves you well and thanks for sharing.
Your dealer uses Forscan? I've never heard of that and it's pretty surprising given that it's not Ford sanctioned. Are you sure they don't use something a little more mainstream and *supported* like FDRS?
From the get-go it sounds like you've done everything right - sourced the right part # directly from Ford, followed the right instructions and so on . . . it's *possible* maybe that particular unit is just a dud? Maybe pursue a return/exchange with Ford?
XD's came out at the end of Spring. I think Ford has a warehouse full of winches that didn't sell via their aftermarket channels and didn't get installed in now-discontinued Everglades and is just writing them down and clearing them out.
I did the $199/2 battery deal last year as well and am very happy. Have no idea about 4 tires at once, carrying/stowing all those hoses isn't my bag (pun intended) but one at a time is no problem.
I can relate. Not born and raised here, only been here about 45 years, but my wife is a native. When we used to discuss retiring and moving away she'd echo that old saw "I like the change of seasons". As she's gotten older she's changed her tune, though! I'd tell her you want change of...
That's seriously F'd up. "Ford, where the capital "F" stands for go F yourself!" What the heck kind of an organization calls that customer service? Sorry to hear they are doing you like that.
Silver lining is at least you've verified it prior to being partway through the install and THEN finding it was fubar'd. Gives paid to the old saw about always taking inventory of what's in the box and x-checking it!
