@jeepvsbronco I ordered the Carbonized Gray letters from uprproducts.com for about $70. They are a full replacement for the OEM letters and can be ordered in several colors. You need to remove the grille to install but that isnāt all that hard.
Cactus Gray thread revival since the color is gone for 2025 - Iām always looking for mods that look good with Cactus Gray so I like the pictures on this thread. One Iāve done is replacing the factory white Bronco letters on the grille with Carbonized Gray letters which are the same color as the...
@JediMcMuffin I know I can do all four tires with one pump and one battery (those are the larger capacity) with plenty of power to spare. Probably could do eight tires on one battery. I use the larger batteries because I carry my Ryobi reciprocating saw with 12 inch blade for tree over the...
Iāll add this thread as another reason Iām happy with my two Ryobi inflators. $80 for two at Home Depot, auto shut off, five minutes on the back; five on the front. And no engine bay fires or wiring to deal with.
ā23 2dr 2.3 Big Bend auto non-sas with 1/2 roof rack here. I consistently get 25+ mpg. My last tank was 27. The computer ranges from right on calculated mpg to about 1 mpg over.
@Y2KFirehawk I installed the https://www.autostopeliminator.com/ about six months ago and it works like a charm. Only sorry it took me so long to order it.
I have a 2 door so not as many panels but also less room. I usually have the back seats down and I keep a moving blanket folded as a cover/protection for that space. When I take the roof panels off I donāt use the storage pouch, I just slide the panels in between folds of the moving blanket...
@TrailRax Question. Do the updated crossbars fit all your Bronco 6G roof racks (four door, two door, full rack, half rack)? I couldnāt find that specifically on the product page (I found it using the search function on your website).
@Poppavein Agreed as to loading. I considered the lift jacks but didnāt like that 1) lifting from underneath would likely leave marks or indents on sound insulation, 2) Iād have to use floor space to store when the top is off, 3) Iād have to find somewhere to store the lift jack when not in...
@rws I was also concerned about balancing the roof as it is hoisted by only one contact point. It took some trial and error moving strap attachments back and forward again to find an acceptable balance point. I also didnāt want the cam straps to slip or move on the half-rack so they are wound...
@Offroad Newb Iām leaving my rack hanging for now mostly because itās easier to move on the strut if I need to get into the closet. The 2 dr half-rack does add some wind noise but Iām not at speed all that much so doesnāt matter much. Donāt know if the 4 dr version would be the same. Mine...
Thanks all for the thoughts. Because the hoist makes it pretty quick and easy to take the roof on and off Iām thinking there wonāt be any long-term (say six-months) storage. Probably more like a week or two, but who knows. Iām in the mountains in Idaho so the roof will definitely be back on...
@RagnarKon the hoist is rated for 440 lbs, the roof weighs 80 lbs and the rack adds probably another 20 lbs so shouldnāt be an issue there. What I donāt know is how strong the attachment of the half-rack to the roof is. The steel on the rack looks like 1/8ā so should be pretty strong. I feel...
I installed a wireless remote electric hoist in a steel channel for taking off my 2dr roof (parts cost about $270). The Trailrax half-rack seemed to be attached pretty well and I didnāt really want to take it off so I built a frame out of 1ā square steel tubing (1/8ā wall thickness) to...
@TXBrian where did you source that flat metal hook used to attach your hoist to the roof mounting points. I need something like that to attach my hoist to my half rack as the half rack uses the mounting points.
@Scott R Nelson I am in Hailey and you can get a LONG ways from a town. My go bag also includes an aerosol spare repair and plug kit in addition to all the other things (battery saw, water filters, air compressors, jump start battery, etc.). Drove Ketchum-Smokey Bar-Featherville-Rocky...
When on the highway I usually keep speeds to 70-75 mph. One day I got 29 mpg but that was on two-lane passes and through Yellowstone Park where you can rarely go over about 40 mph it also had more downhill then uphill for the day.
Two results for BB 2dr noSAS auto. 1000 mile road trip about a month ago over to MT and over Beartooth Pass through Yellostone. 26 mpg. This week 150 miles of off-road one lane rough rocky surface over mountain passes stopping about every mile on the second day when I saw a good fly-fishing...
