Yes, I was in a minor accident with a lot of front end damage. The repair shop evidently didn't tighten the nut on the battery post when replacing the battery. The Ford Roadside Service guy was able to slip it all the way off from half way off. When we checked just now, it was still tight.
So the upshot is: I finally took Steamboat to the mechanic to check the readings and learn to do it myself as you described. Results:
Measured: 761 Cold Cranking Amps, vehicle off
Rated: 720 CCA
Temp: 89°
Voltage: 12.460
They said there was no point in...
Thank you! A Ford Road Service guy jump started us, but said he couldn't check the battery or alternator. I'm taking him in to our ace, non-Ford mechanic tom'w, after the holiday. Is there any way to check the battery level from the Ford app?
Thanks for your input, everyone. The upshot is: this weird but knowledgeable guy came from Ford Roadside Service on his Kawasaki HR toting a portable charger and, as would develop later, a 10mm wrench. After firing up the engine, he noticed one of the battery cables was loose--it easily slid up...
Thank you! We have cables, but he's is facing in such a way that we can't get another car in front or beside. "Ford" Roadside service is on its way--probably just the local towing place, knows nothing about Bronco. Hopefully he can test the battery. I can't imagine why it would be dead! It's...
Help, Hive Mind! Steamboat is in deep sleep mode and won't start manually. I drive it almost every day, last time, 2 days ago, including freeway--all told about 40 mins. Yesterday was hotter than usual, but only 90.
Today he won't even start manually. Should I a) get it jumped by AAA and...

I had good results w/ StickerFab https://www.stickerfab.com/products/red-r-grille-overlay-2021-bronco?variant=40656024338543 They give you 2 sets; helpful videos
@Ducati1098 Thanks for that. I've been freaking out a bit b/c Steamboat started showing DTE of over 450 miles on our trip out of town last weekend, when the highest he's ever had has been around 310 after several tanks of Premium. Going over your checklist I get:
Changing between towing/not...
It seems it only applies to models with an 8" screen. I am loathe to risk a "regression bug" (a bug introduced as a side effect of fixing another bug) for something that's unlikely to come up. I only used 4L one time (use 4H a bit). My network/software security expert husband forbade FORSkin...
What, if anything, are folks doing about the 4L "recall"*? Apparently the rear view camera might not turn off in 4L when going from R to D. *It's a remote software fix.
Thanks for remembering our collective anniversary! We are the 1/3 build group.
Steamboat is great! He is all I hoped for in a working ranch vehicle. We are experiencing a series of winter storms here in No. CA with flooding and falling trees. The ranch is a muddy, rutted mess. (Steamboat is...
I didn't see any improvement, but I wonder how many miles you need to go before the savings kick in. I think the MPG figures an average based on what's left in the tank & how many miles we've gone.
Hope everything is OK. Did you get an MRI? Brace? Mammoth must have a dark cloud over it--I lost my fob there and it's costing nearly $500 to replace (fob, emergency key, programming).
We need a Care option in the forum emojis.
...when you introduce your rig as "Steamboat," the most famous bucking bronc in rodeo history (the one that's on the Wyoming state license plate and the Wyoming quarter).
Change that to "hubby," but he stopped asking questions when he was parked in a beach town while I did errands and 3 little bathing beauties came up to him and oohed and ahhed.
