Good info, also have the Ford ESP. This makes any denials seem even worse.
Strut just means structural to the vehicle, nothing to do with steering. There is no universe where I think the Bronco would be safe without the rears installed.
"Coilovers" are adjustable struts. Ford dealers are...
I'm not a vehicle engineer, but the rears look like struts to me purely because of the way they mount at the top. Ford's Tech specs PDF for the Bronco even classifies both the front and the rear as "coil-over springs" and "dampers." Either both front and rear should be covered, or neither...
Do not wait. Your logic is based on the assumption that the repair will be flawless. Even if the new top is perfect, the dealer techs could make a mistake during handling or installation.
The 2-door and 4-door tops only share the front panels, correct? The rear portion that is typically...
This was my exact reaction when I test drove an Ecoboost Mustang 9 years ago. The 2.3L will forever sound like my grandmother is fixing clothes under the hood.
GL. Typically anything that results in mixed readings for the ABS system can throw the whole Christmas tree even if it's just one code like U0415. Can also be wheel hubs/bearings, those are easy to check if you can get the Bronco up.
Might be a bit of a shot in the dark, but typically Christmas Tree = Wheel Speed Sensors or something related to them IME.
Have you test driven with a Forscan laptop and verified all sensors and VSS reading line up?
Kinda sounds like your dealer was looking for an excuse to not do the work.
This is why my advice in these situation is always do not pick up the car and open a ticket with Ford corporate.
Everyone's knee jerk reaction is to take their car back when the dealer says to. They're nervous about...
Most of Hondas products for the US and Canada markets, including the Civic Si, are made in North America. The 11th gen Si in particular is made in their plant in Ontario, Canada.
Only the Type R is made in Japan.
Normal quality control issues for American or Canadian assembly.
Did you tell Ford Corporate this and have it entered into your ticket?
I would request a buy back before starting a lemon law case.
I'm a little concerned that you picked up the vehicle. IME cases w/corporate have more power when the vehicle is left at the dealer. At this point they will...
I'm not a mechanic, and I have seen more JDM and Mustang clutches, but... that doesn't even look messed up. I feel like this would be a "Send it" situation for a Mustang.
My gut is that the dealer is softly blackballing you or giving you a FO price.
Engine was clearly defective from the start.
Dealer probably didn't do their due diligence or was hamstrung by a Ford-issued procedure to just replace the heads. Sounds like it needed a long block.
Do you have the ESP? My contract explicitly lists the parts you're stating are not covered.
"Cylinder Heads" and "Cylinder Block" are there under PremiumCARE.
Iron X, let it sit, then normal wash by hand routine (rinse the car, soapy mitt scrub (and foam cannon if you have), rinse), then clay. I've had success with Griot's Synthetic Clay. If that doesn't remove it, you may need a random orbital and something like this surface prep pad. You can also...
They did mine when I took it in for "the works."
Never had the issue happen but I'm glad they're addressing it for those who have, was kinda messed up how they were denying it early on.
