I do this, as well as keep a detailed Excel with all service, purchases, upgrades, etc., and details of all gas ups, MPG, and miles on tires. My Excel also tracks upgrades I'm planning/price tracking.

I've got factory tube steps on my WT, and I have the Mabett set on mine. They definitely help against rock slinging, along with the OEM trail armor rocker panels. Fairly easy to install. I'll share photos, if I find them.

I had a quote from Katzkin in mid-2023, and the cooling module + install was $1,500 on top of the leather. Your extra $500 could be your LA/CA tax.

I recall trying to buckle last summer with tops & doors off, and the flap was almost worse than just leaving them unbuckled. I pulled over and unbuckled them. Maybe buckling them, and wrapping the uppers around the headrest or something? Maybe a hook and latch strap around the belts?
