I might swap out the JL box for ported 2x12'' setup, but I'd probably need to upgrade the amp to the JL 1000.1 to really make 'em sing.....plus the box would take up a ton of space.
+1 for that.
Deaths in the last 30 years have been dehydration / poor hiking planning / heat / random medical emergencies.
You're not gonna have a group of banditos show up and rob you - lol!
Big Bend will def scratch that itch then. If you're the camping / overnight type - look for camping spots around an area called Pine Canyon. And if you want to get even more remote - Talley 1 and 2.
I did a rip / replace of my entire B&O system - this is what I used:
Bronco Speaker Setup:
DSP: Mobridge DSP Plug n Play kit - 2300watts/8.1 channels
JL 500.1 Monoblock Amp: 500 watts @ 2 Ohms for JL 12'' Sub.
FRONT:
2 x 4’’ Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 402 MKII - (60 watt rms 140peak)
2 x...
The security stuff is waaaay overblown - esp if you’re just doing daytime wheeling / hikes in the park.
It’s not like No Country for Old Men out there. lol!
Awesome that you got to experience it! It’s a magical place. We were just there around New Years and I got to go check out Christmas Mountain in Terlingua Ranch.
Swap out the crap B&O DSP to Mobridge and add in some better aftermarket speakers.
Def get the larger 6.5’’ pods in the back.
Most people start with some window tint and some interior lighting upgrades - it’s dark AF inside the Bronco.
I am really digging that... just thinking I'd probably need to put in HD springs on the rear Eibachs to make it work... any idea what the stock rear weighs?
Hey NTX Bronco Fam - we're having a get together this Sunday at Ford's Garage - here's the details:

This is great! Still desperately wanting a 10'' box from you guys that'll fit in my 2D - i don't need the indent for the K2 as I've already stuffed it somewhere else. ;-)
