So I've been absent from forums a bit but I am one of many, I am sure, that had an unfulfilled order from Archetype on the Magnum Stirrup running boards. I am not looking to rehash that fiasco, my question is simply has anyone found something very similar being made by another manufacturer?
Thx
So this has taken a bit of a back seat in priorities for me. Our home was lost in a wildfire on September 1 and literally lost everything. Insurance is doing great by us and we're in the process of getting life put back together but needless to say my radio endeavors for the Bronco will likely...
So I went through the process with my local dealer, they didn't charge me any fees or deposits up front. Ultimately through I got fed up with Ford not shipping the one I ordered and bought from another dealer.
My suggestion is to really comb the dealers in what you consider a reasonable...
Actually the bulletpoint mount is the only magsafe mount that seems to work for me with all the mountain top stuff I do. Currently in search of a solid tablet mount for my iPad that works well but doesn't cost hundreds of dollars...
Yeah I am still finishing up my VHF/UHF install. (2) Icom 5100's are working well but I need to figure out a better antenna location. Mounts next to the mirrors on the A pilars are not doing well, VHF at high power does something to the factory radio and seems like a restart or something...
I appreciate that, I actually was trying to test more of my actual typical usage without having to make too many compromises in how my devices are setup.
Then if I start going over I’ll make adjustments.
Funny you mention Weboost, I am pulling the booster out. Just don’t need it and very unhappy with the quality of the overland antenna. This is what it looked like after two trips through the car wash.
So some of this is work, zoom calls etc when away from the office. I previously was Emergency Management Director for our Sheriff's Office so was needing to be connected 24/7 for fires, etc. Old habits die hard and so I generally try to stay connected to what goes on around me.
You're...
Had a very successful trip to Steens mountain in eastern Oregon yesterday. From my home this is a six hour drive each way. The last 1.5 hours of which is 30 miles of rough washboarded gravel road up to 10,000 ft.
If my wedged location with the velcro was going to fail it would be here and it...
Today went much better, longer trip about 5 hours in the Bronco at highway speeds. Everything held firm with the combination for the velcro and wedged partially under the roll bar.
Speeds much improved as well. Typically 130-170mb down and 15-30mb up. I'll probably stick with this through...
Yeah I ended up leaving the velcro on the face edge and moved the dish so it was partially wedged between top and the roll bar. Seemed a little more secure but I'll see tomorrow.
I did get a couple speed tests done at highway speed before it came down. Was getting 20-25 down and 5-8 up. Not...
