Had it for a year and it was a blast, but solid it a few months ago for a cayman S. Didnāt really need two practically cars lol.
Not even close, theyāre likely going to use Rivianās software and not much else. This is mechanical lockers vs quad motor, solid rear axle vs IRS, BoF vs skateboard...
Dropped in a reservations, weāll see what comes of it. Would be great to replace the RAV4 with something with some off road chops and love the Range Extender option, best of both worlds. Curious how itāll ride with that solid rear axle and BOF.
Those areā¦some dimensions though
They asked me to post something as well. Just came up with general thoughts but didnāt have a method to test.
They gave me one for just commenting on their release thread. Wasnāt even asking just an off hand comment.
Iām just hoping the three row seating isnāt limited to the non-TRD models. New LC can even have three row in other markets but the hybrid battery lives there in the US spec.
Received this Wolfbox jump starter from them this week and was asked to do an āinterviewā of it. The communication that led to me getting this complementary starter was mixed at best.
Anywho, my old Noco jump starter died after Iād used it to attempt to start a Continental that went fully dead...
Also why I give props to Kia for putting buttons back into the EV9 that werenāt in the EV6. Itās a great blend of keeping all thatās needed while not looking like button vomit.
Iāve been considering a three row EV for down the line to replace our RAV4 eventually, but really donāt want a massive SUV like an R1S or EV9. Would love if there was a hideaway third row available in the R2. Also wish they gave us some freaking buttons.
You can get a model 3 for high 30s...
What damper would you recommend? Recently got a Rhino strap kit that also had soft shackles. Realizing after swapping to the modular bumper Iāll probably need proper metal shackles for the front now.
The $50 is definitely hard to beat, heck if I end up going with an ARB or something else down the line itās still good to have.
Iāve actually been eyeing your fog light setup ever since converting to a modular bumper. Just waiting on some house renovations to finish first lol
Update: just purchased a used Viair 450p from someone selling their RV for $50. Should be picking it up tomorrow and diving in then. Definitely will still be doing the quad setup but have loved hearing how bulletproof the Viair offerings are. Hoping I can mimic the under hood mount someone did...
I am no pro on how EV drivetrains work, that may require some extra independent research lol.
As far as why the Rivian is so fast, part of that does boil down to the motors. Not only does it allow the car to send power to each tire that has grip while one may be slipping in a drag race, but it...
From the article you quoted (bottom portion talking about Mach E GT):
āMOTORS
2 permanent-magnet synchronous AC; combined output, 480 hp, 634 lb-ft; 88.0-kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery packā
The wording may be funny, but I assure you itās two motors.
Example of Rivian with 4 motors...
That mileage is highly dependent on use case though. Driving around town in consistent stop and go? Added EV range from a PHEV or hybrid will be greatly beneficial? Doing a highway trip to work every day thatās 20+ miles at 65mph? Probably not worth it. Plus the Ford has the benefit of being...
Appreciate the insight. Glad to see itās solid in real world usage.
@Tricky Mike was there any other developments on the mount in the cargo area? The box you mentioned looks solid but having it stored fully out of the way would be great. Also can the compressor be used for one tire on occasion...
