  1. Overlanding is Dead! Is it? Finally!!

Not sure I call "backpacking" camping, not having an ice chest with meat and beer is more like torture.
  2. Retrofit 2025 Bronco's digital dash and rear AC vents?

The gamble is worth it! Stock cluster is one of the worst parts of the bronco. Hell I can't even read the analog speedometer hiding behind the steering wheel handle.
  3. Retrofit 2025 Bronco's digital dash and rear AC vents?

What's the part number? Is it the same between trims?
  4. Regearing a non SAS Black Diamond (message from shop)

We still don't know if 5.13 or 5.38 gears weaken the front ring gear enough to be the critical fail point. The intermediate shaft and CV may still be the fuse. The rear will definitely be weaker as jeep uses the same ring and pinion and 4.88 are known as the recommended limit. It's easier to...
  5. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

@BigMeatsBronco that Everest transfer case looks interesting it has 2.72 gears and 4auto. Not sure what transmission they run in that platform are you trying to adapt in a 10r80?
  6. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

This dude is getting a million views just from me lol
  7. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

These bottom teeth attached to shield on the front drive chain gear. Fit into the shell Which does not key into the splined drive The friction coated disks key into the center and steels key into the shell no mechanical connection to the front drive sprocket.
  8. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

4Auto is 3.06 and Part time is 2.72, with most borg warner cases being the standard 2.72 ratio.
  9. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

The 4Auto was the new design and got a lower gearing to compete with jeep. The part time unit is just the same old unit for used in the ranger set up for 10r60. Just look at the limiter use of the 4Auto case in the new ranger, it's only in the raptor?
  10. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

Those splines engage the clutch pack. The out sprocket to the front wheels is keyed into the the clutch pack shield.
  11. UCA won't release ball joint

I have 3-4 different ones from harbor freight, always buy a couple the are super handy!
  12. F-150 Lariat to Bronco?

I gave up my Regular Cab truck for 4 door Bronco. I would do it again and again! My wife has a crew cab F150, it's a need item for us. If you don't do truck things its doable but a truck is way more useful.
  13. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

Went a looking, apparently there is a shift solenoid on the back of the case for lock up. https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/anyone-want-to-see-the-inside-of-their-transfer-case.84702/ @Brian_B only a few of us here have lower trim Broncos with the Holy Grail transfer case lol.
  14. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

The part was never fully developed. Ram came out with an updated transfer case that was a drop in replacement. Maybe the right size shim in the mechanism would increase the tension. A feeler gauge and calipers would be where I start. Looks like there is enough play that you could get a few more...
  15. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

My first experience with these clutches was in the Ram 1500s when helping my neighbor pull out a stuck truck with a 5th wheel. Dam truck would spin the rear tires in 4 lo and not the front. Ended up spending a few days trying to figure out what was wrong. Which was absolutely nothing! As the...
  16. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

@SierraBronco every clutch failure I have seen so far seems to comment on how burned up the clutches are. Might even want to change the motor driving the clutches as it looks to be torque sensitive. I have watched this video dozens of times makes me wonder if overfilling by 1/2 quart might be...
  17. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

What's your mileage? Might as well drive around in 4 auto to see if the system will self adjust. I really wonder if it has to do with how long you sit on an obstacle at a extreme angle and things drying out. Clutch is centered in the system so it may not be lubricating properly nose up or down...
  18. Overlanding is Dead! Is it? Finally!!

Washing your hands with cooler water is a right of passage. Starlink is a sign that you are not camping.
  19. Dana 60 FDU ....FITS!!!

So what your running cost tally so far? This looks pretty reasonable so far.
  20. 2025 Suspension Recommendations (by Snacktime)

You want to much collar lift for the stock Hoss 3.0 suspension. Most aftermarket coilovers start adding length with a 3" lift. You are really limiting your droop with a 3" front collar lift on stock length shocks. The front suspension would have very limited droop and not drive well over pot...
