Three words: Advanced Fiberglass Concepts. Add to that the wait times and differing styles (some have slanted rear panels, some have no removable midsection, some are just ugly, etc.)
The Ford OEM one comes with a two year warranty anyways. If it’s gonna have problems, it’ll have them before then.
Just to update folks on the timeline. It arrived in Oregon on Tuesday of this week and was installed today.
So, ordered October 30th, arrived at my Ford dealer November 19th, installed on the 22nd. Couldn't be happier with the switch to the hard top!
It’s still “in transit to dealer” at present. Honestly not surprised since it’s making its way out to Oregon and the Cascade passes are all snowed in. 😂 The charge showed as pending on my CC until the day after it shipped when it finally posted. Hopefully yours ships soon!
For those who haven't seen it yet, Ford is now offering the hard top as a standalone accessory. https://www.ford.com/product/4dr-bronco-hardtop-p2937741774
At present, if you order today, it says it'll be at your dealer by November 10, or it would ship to your home by November 8. I ordered...
They've stopped doing the emails. Now the hard top is available for all to order. Placed my order on October 30, and supposedly it's supposed to be at my dealer by November 4.

Ford today...
Just crossed over 23k miles last week. Mostly routine daily driving around East Tennessee, with a few forest service roads, park service roads, and a drive to Florida and back thrown in there. So far, so good.
I was in convoy delay from my build date April 12, until it was delivered May 19th. I received the shipped email on May 19th, the same day it was delivered. No clue where it was until it showed up at my dealer.
I know the holds suck and no one wants to hear this, but.......
It is worth the wait! Ford built a great vehicle, and while their delivery & production issues may be infuriating, the finished product is one of the nicest/most capable vehicles you'll ever own. When it gets here, you'll forget...
Mine just told me, "You'll be reimbursed the difference in the next 45-60 days." I don't know if they will or not, (my salesman has gone above and beyond with everything so far) but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
Ford Lincoln of Cookeville, Tennessee. MSRP, no markups, no hassles about it either. They also give you a complimentary limited lifetime powertrain warranty as long as you own the vehicle. I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat.
In this episode of "my dealer says" . . . While I was doing the paperwork tonight, I lamented the terrible state of the shipping situation with Ford (among other issues) and was told that Ford had just switched convoy shipping companies, which is one reason behind the numerous delays...
