  1. Another "meh" review of 4Runner TOTL Trailhunter

The new 4Runner was the only alternative I was considering to my 2024 WildTrak that I purchased in January. Reviews on the powertrain (from the Landcruiser) and essentially being concerned about a 1st year redesign (Even Toyota has shown to be mortal recently) steered me towards the Bronco as...
  2. got a red flashing warning on dash

Well that was what was about to happen. 😂
  3. Seafoam / oil change

Interesting to hear about running kerosene in the oil and here is my story related to it. I was in my final semester of college when I was in an accident that totaled my car. My late uncle who was an auto mechanic who owned his own shop, was always buying and selling cars from and to...
  4. Let's see the stablemates!!!

I love, LOVE that Eldorado. My parents had a ‘77 Coupe deVille. Many great memories in that car. They later purchased a new 1991 Brougham d’Elegance. I guess the issue is as king as you stay out of boost. In the end the CTS-V has a 6.2L supercharged V8 where as the Roush has the 5.0...
  5. Let's see the stablemates!!!

Believe it or not the Roush is the best of the three. The CTS-V is the worst. Lifetime average is 16mpg, the Bronco is at 17mpg and the Roush is slightly better.
  6. Lincoln Bronco?

This is the key right here. A Land Cruiser is already starting off as somewhat of a luxury vehicle. Jason Cammisa (Hagerty) called it a "stealth wealth vehicle" in his recent video on the history of the vehicle. It doesn't take much engineering and upgrades to bring it up to Lexus standards. To...
  7. got a red flashing warning on dash

Yep. Driving on a two-lane road yesterday and an oncoming Tahoe/Suburban started drifting over into my lane. Both front and rear tires completely crossed the centerline. Hit the brakes hard and laid on the horn when they immediately veered back. I was close to taking the Bronco literally off-road.
  8. Self tire repair plug

IIRC the argument against plugs was that the movement of the steel belts in the tire could potentially damage or cut through the plug causing it to leak again or in a worst case scenario cause a failure. That might be more of a concern with a lower profile high speed performance tire, but I...
  9. Lincoln Bronco?

Didn't they try this with the Lincoln Blackwood? It just didn't go well. Now other brands seem to have done it such as the aforementioned G-Wagon, but that is a platform unto itself. I suppose the Expedition/Navigator, just like the Tahoe-Suburban/Escalade have made it work, but those aren't...
  10. Let's see the stablemates!!!

Good to know and glad you're enjoying it.
  11. Let's see the stablemates!!!

How does she like the Land Cruiser? I've owned two, a '98 (bought used) and a 2004 (bought new). Loved them both. Put 160K miles on the '04 and it still drove like the day I took it off the lot and all it ever asked of me was oil changes, tires and brakes. I was excited when the new one came...
  12. Weathertech mudflaps installed on 2024 Bronco Raptor

I bought my WildTrak in January. The running boards help a little, but the first snow driving over a recently salted road, I could hear the rock salt peppering the bottom and when I got out there was rock salt all along the running boards. Installed WeatherTechs front and rear and they helped a...
  13. An explanation of why to disable Auto Stop Start

Agree that at least you can turn it off. My girlfriend has a 2019 Malibu and it doesn't have a shut off button for ASS. The only way you can get around it is to start your drive by putting it in Low 1 and then upshifting until you get into Drive. Thankfully I don't drive that car very often...
  14. Let's see the stablemates!!!

    2012 Lingenfelter modified CTS-V coupe (630hp) and a Stage 3 Phase 2 Roush Mustang convertible (727hp).
  15. Should I trade up to a raptor? Seeking financial advice…

The internet is full of stories of people with 600 credit scores buying Hellcats at 20% interest and having 4 figure monthly payments only for those cars eventually getting repo'd. Listen, I love 4-wheel toys as much as anyone but strapping yourself with a payment that rivals a home mortgage is...
  16. Should I trade up to a raptor? Seeking financial advice…

Eff that. Nothing is worth that kind of payment. For me at least.
  17. Should I trade up to a raptor? Seeking financial advice…

Here’s another perspective on frugality. My parents were immigrants. Came to this country with nothing. Aside from their house, never had loans. Always drove beaters. When my dad was in his mid-50s, us kids were either out of the house or on their way out. My parents started traveling...
  18. Tow Package After Purchase

My dealer charged me $750 to install the package last January before I took delivery. I don't plan on towing much, but I have a hitch mounted cargo basket with lights, so I wanted the truck to control those lights. I don't have Forscan, so having the dealer get it all done for me was worth it.
  19. Should I trade up to a raptor? Seeking financial advice…

I too made poor financial decisions early on in my life. Bought cars I had no business buying and was not saving enough. My fortunes turned around 18 years ago when I was recruited and hired for a position that essentially doubled my base pay, along with nice healthy short- and long-term bonuses...
  20. 2025 Bronco gets new 2.3L EcoBoost engine w/ direct port injection!

My guess is that they're going to claim that it is the same in order to get excess 2024 inventory sold.
