Yeah, I did notice the Bronco was a bit sluggish, but I was on the highway in cruise control most of the time.
I will try doing this on the next tank refill. Thanks for providing the details on how to recalibrate the AFE.
My Bronco had some similar alignment quirks as yours.
However, the panels have never leaked, even after a few rides with the panels out and back in again.
At my age, my chassis has a few "alignment issues" of my own and my Bronco has never judged me. So, I stopped looking so closely at my...
^^^ This. ^^^
Yup.
Using the odometer and gas pump receipts is the only true way to measure MPG.
I just did a road trip across the state using GOAT set to "Eco" mode for the whole trip. According to the gas pump reading and odometer, I got a new personal record of 22.3 mpg (all highway...
The car I sold to buy my Bronco was 2015 Mazda 3 with MT, but no Auto Stop/Start.
Today's cars seem to have a more sophisticated ignition and complicated charging systems. The old ways are gone and the new age has arrived. I have accepted it and I'm grateful that I can still select my own gears.
@UncleBrad
I have written a lot of software in my career. And as much as I tried to make my code "idiot proof", the real world finds better idiots. Your scenario had me wondering how the Ford engineers handle nose ring'd idiots throwing keys out the window. So I ran my own version of your...
I went with the straight mount DV8 bracket.
And I have the two screw holes from my dealership's managers that still do not understand their customer requests.
LOL.
The first week I had my Bronco, I also tried this by turning off the ignition while still rolling. Yup, I also got a ton of error codes.
I did not need to disconnect the battery. The codes eventually cleared when I came to a complete stop. The reset took just long enough for me to think...
Well, when you turn on your AC, your hand is already at the console and can turn off the Auto Start/Stop while it's there. (I don't like say the ASS button anymore.)
Yup, me too.
I don't understand all the complaining about reaching over to that ASS button to turn it off. You only have to do it once when you first start the Bronco and you're good for the rest of your ride.
Honestly, why aren't more people complaining about the location for the Parking...
I do the same thing, but slide my lever into neutral. The Boston area can have some long traffic lights, but after many trips to the Tampa area and I agree it worse in Tampa.
I can't say what the coolant temperature has been this winter, but based on my oil temp, your workshop manual seems to be very close to my experience.
Just another reminder of how blessed I have been with Ford making me a properly built Bronco.
