I got the unit installed yesterday, I put the main box in the cubby in the center console where the 12v cig adapter is. Then ran the antenna under the center console behind the glove box then installed the antenna on the top right corner of the hood. I did not want the MIC visible when Iam not...
  2. Speaker Volume when installing Midland MXT275

ok, after looking more closely at the unit, there is a MIC jack above the power cord on the back. If I can use the Mic as a speaker that should be good for trail use. Not sure if people are using these on the road yet - like truckers used CBs at one time.
  3. Speaker Volume when installing Midland MXT275

For those of you who have installed your GMRS radio tucked away some where like the glove box or inside the center console, how well can you hear the speaker vs installing the radio on the passenger side of the console?

  5. Fake sub/amp...Now what?

I didn't even think to try it, sounded so much better I was just happy with it.
  6. Fake sub/amp...Now what?

Most of the clips don't really break, they may come out of the slots but can be easily slipped back in. The only one that seeks vulnerable to to breaking is the one by the cargo light at the olastic welds. So e plastic glue can fix that easily.

I am guessing its either an issue with the molding process and not present on every enclosure or its an alignment pin that people haven't noticed and just tightened...
  8. Fake sub/amp...Now what?

Watch dome videos on using Foscan, it can be intimidating but its not difficult to use. You can take a back of your rigs current "setup" so if something goes wrong you reset everything back to they way it came. You would really have to try to mess anything up however.

  10. Fake sub/amp...Now what?

It's easier if you remove it. Just 2 bolts and 2 nuts on the nottom.
  11. Fake sub/amp...Now what?

I wanted to put as much sound deadening in the back as possible or I probably would have left the cargo floor in. It really helped with the noise from my dirt road as well, the hard top created a hollow cN sound somewhat in washboard parts of the road.
  12. Fake sub/amp...Now what?

I felt like she viewed the thread on this site on how to add those parts.
  13. Fake sub/amp...Now what?

I am in Tucson. I did install some sound deadening on the quarter panel wall behind the sub enclosure and on the cargo area floor. Not sure if it helped or not but it didn't hurt. Just take your time taking/pulling the tabs to remove the clips. There is one by the rear cargo light that is...
