  1. Jtops shipping and order updates

Ditto! Excited for later summer/fall use!
  2. Jeep trying too hard!!!!

None of it works...until it does. And one day autonomous driving will absolutely be the norm, and it will handle construction and road closures and wrecks (of which there will be few because the cars will be better drivers than we are). The point of participating in the process is it gets...
  3. Do 4Dr Badlands Non-Squach even exist?

    Got mine in December.
  4. Is my wife right that I'm nuts, or am I brilliant??? Please gut check me!!

The caution is that your used OBX price a year from now could be very different than what you think you'd get now. Interest rates are going to be higher, more Broncos are going to be available, etc. I don't think breaking even a year from now is even close to guaranteed. In fact, I think it's...
  5. Intrest Rates Hike after your Order?

It would be a special situation that would allow you to lock in now. And if you can find it, might require you to start paying now. Best strategy (imo)? Start adding to your $15k you've got set aside by making what you estimate your monthly payment would be. If you do that from now until the...
  6. Badlands Lux Carpet?

It's only possible from the factory if you get the vinyl seats rather than the leather. Personally, as a guy who has the vinyl, I'm super impressed with their quality and prefer them to the leather so far. I'm curious if Armorlite or another manufacturer will offer their product for aftermarket...
  7. Trade-In Advice Needed

I got my dealer to give me a written offer for trade value ahead of delivery - I took in Carvana and Vroom offers as backup, but didn’t end up needing them. Most dealers want decent used vehicles right now, so if they know you’re willing to go elsewhere, they’ll usually give you a decent offer...
  8. Rust on car before delivery

I'd definitely get those looked at - they shouldn't look that way. Easy to replace, but I would ask that they do so with bolts that were properly coated.
  9. Advice to member with no towing experience

The Bronco tow limits are a bit different than many vehicles. They have nothing to do with power - either engine, but especially the 2.7, has plenty of power to tow. The suspension and the way the hitch is attached to the frame are much bigger considerations, but under the limit should be fine...
  10. Door handle lock buttons

Patience has been my friend. The key for me has been to learn to hesitate a half second after closing the door, and then to just rest my finger on the button until it locks. I agree with the sensor vs button question above. I had a lot of problems early on, but since altering my methods have...
  11. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

I did some more exploring and am fairly certain now that the battery was indeed charging from the 7-pin. Makes the power line run from the battery a no brainer. It's just too easy. The aux may work, but you have to remember to hit the switch, and depending on the amps you want to run to the...
  12. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

Every state is different (for many it's even higher than that) and I don't think brakes are often necessary at this guy's weight (probably 2000-ish lbs fully loaded). That said, you need the wiring right for a 7-pin harness to work and to charge the battery in the trailer, even if you don't care...
  13. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

If you don't need the 7-pin and don't anticipate needing it in the future, installing the 4-pin is pretty straightforward (took me 90 minutes or so). That said, I'd still keep factory tow unless you are worried about holding up your build. I think I'll always regret it a bit even though I have...
  14. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

I'm feeling plenty conspicuous enough already!
  15. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

Just need a little weather to cooperate - I got home to Kansas in time for winter to return!
  16. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

I may eventually look into this option. After hauling the trailer back home, I don't believe the trailer was charging via the tow hookup. I'll have to explore further.
  17. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

The picture makes it look like it's squatting quite a bit, but I don't think it's done any more than maybe take the factory rake out of it. The trailer rides nose down a bit more than I'd like, and I think that contributes to the squatty look. Picture of the hitch setup:
  18. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

The 4-pin does have direct power too, but the 4-to-7 adapter needs its own power. Not sure why, but that's an easy thing to do. It would look great! Blue wouldn't have been my first choice, but it works just fine. What I won't be doing is hiding very well with my color choices. 😉
  19. New Toy to Haul and Successful 7-pin Trailer Connector Solution

I'm excited to share my successful acquisition of another new toy to pair with my Bronco - a very well-cared-for 2019 Turtleback Getaway. It's going to be a blast! The other reason to post is that I have successfully (for my situation) navigated skipping the factory tow package. First, I...
  20. Wash out floor availability

I'd expect Armorlite to be as good as - and likely better than - the factory washout floor.
