  1. The most expensive solution for storing fly rods and/or long guns inside a Bronco

I have a 4 rod Thule caddie. Really like it. Super convenient. I can stow rods up to 10' in it. If we are going over any rough passes fly rods go in their cases and get thrown in back. I have guns that are in the same dollar ballpark as the Bronco. They get properly cased in cases that I...
  2. Ski rack options

As a licensed race coach, certified instructor, and former racer chaser I'd never use that rack. My skis go in a box or inside.
  3. Aftermarket roof racks

The Bronco stays parked. The SQ5 is the winter driver. I park in the DMC lot at Purg and at Chapman Hill for race coaching at night.
  4. Aftermarket roof racks

Depends of expectations. As a former race tech being among my ski credentials credentials, and with 150 - 200 days on snow / year, my skis don't ride outside.
  5. Aftermarket roof racks

I'd at least rock a box if you are carrying skis and care about a bit of performance.
  6. Best 35” tire for snow/ice? Anything New?

Studded Nokians. I have them on an S-series Audi. Bomber winter driver. I've found that for really cold temps - like single digits either side of 0 degrees F, and ice, he Nokians rock. Perhaps due to their Northern latitude origins. In warmer, denser, slush they swim around a bit.
  7. Ford Accessories Kayak Carrier Any Good

If it is a plastic boat don't sweat it. Just tie it down to the rack and with bow and stern lines.
  8. The Scout Reveal is Coming!

VW makes a vehicle to compete with the HiLux in Argentina. Probably the same platform. Could be a winner. It is a game-on utility vehicle.
  9. Stalled out on incline around 12,500'

    Someone is jerking your chain.
  10. Big Bend SAS or Heritage Edition, which is the better value?

Are you going off road? If not, get the pretty toy.
  11. What if... Bronco by Lincoln?

Based on the number of absolutely immaculate Broncos that I see parked in equally immaculate garages and driveways here, I think that most never got the memo.
  12. Half Rack Awning and Ski Rack Questions

A box is the way to go. Also watch REI warehouse sales. A lot of people “buy to rent” these boxes - they use them for a trip and return them. At one point the Seattle flagship store had racks of the, and liquidate them at warehouse sales.
  13. Half Rack Awning and Ski Rack Questions

My skis always go inside. Road grit is not a great thing for bindings or race tuned skis.
  14. Alpine Loop - Lake City, CO feedback?

My guess... Things closed now will likely remain closed. The county sheriff and SAR is spread a bit thin. I think if roads are not dialed they'd rather keep them closed than scrambling to get someone out of trouble. Things are pretty saturated. That being said, there are still a lot of roads to...
  15. Alpine Loop - Lake City, CO feedback?

A big rain event for this weekend. Then drying.
  16. Would you let the 2.3 be a dealbreaker ?

For your use, in the flatlands, 2.3 would probably be just fine.
  17. Alpine Loop - Lake City, CO feedback?

Correct. in a few weeks things will settle down. For some reason last week was empty. Maybe Texas schools were back in session?
  18. Alpine Loop - Lake City, CO feedback?

No prob in the Bronco. Holiday weekends suck. I don’t leave the property.
  19. Options for shocks that aren't as harsh as the Sasquatch ones?

I'm running 30 psi on a mix of maybe 50% gravel, 20% true off road, 30% pavement. 4 door base Sas with 2.7. Getting 21 + mpg. I don't notice a mileage difference at the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure. I do notice a harsher ride.
  20. Options for shocks that aren't as harsh as the Sasquatch ones?

Not the entire story. If you are familiar with bicycle tire technology and physics you know that the trend is towards wider tires, and lower PSI. Look up hysteresis. Your position on rolling resistance assumes a very flat, glass like surface.
