Best of both worlds! Really cool idea.
Do you have any photos you can share of the roof with this install in fully closed position? All the photos I’m seeing are of the roof partially open - wanted to see what the hinges and other look like when the roof is not opened up. Thanks!
Do you have the Pitch & Roll window running in Sync in the background? If so, have you checked whether those issue still occur if you switch to a different option? That seems to have solved the issue for many of us.
I'll wait a few days to be sure before updating the first post in the thread, but I think y'all have found the solve!
My sincere thanks to your wife for spotting that pattern and you for taking the time to post the suggestion for the benefit of internet strangers - this has been a near constant...
Yes keep us posted. I looked back through all the videos posted to this thread and every single one shows the Pitch & Roll screen running. So I'm really optimistic @ThickAsOats is onto something but won't be able to test personally until later today after work.
Wow. That's a really interesting observation / theory. To add to your data points, I definitely always have the pitch and roll window selected. It's usually obscured by full screen Carplay, but I think it still runs in the background. I'll try switching to a different background window and see...
While there, can you ask them if this update is rolling out over-the-air or if it must be taken to the dealer to be received? Thanks and keep us posted!
You are not alone. I started a thread on this topic that is currently in page 5.
Also, to save you some time, the Ford rep here will just ask for your info to update their CRM and then tell you to make an appointment with a dealer.
I agree, it’s really surprising and frustrating this hasn’t been addressed. I don’t have a good gauge how many people this is affecting. I would think we’d be hearing a lot more about this if it were a large %.
I had my CarPlay phone audio drop out three times over the course of a six minute...
Genuinely curious.. what problem does this solve? In what way is this better / different than driving with a soft top?
The top seems substantial enough that the driving experience would still feel enclosed and not like an open-air experience, but then it would be much louder than the soft top...
Hmm.. I personally don't know if I would qualify the issue as fixed if it's "still not perfect" and the glaring issues are "mostly resolved." Back before ~October, this wasn't an issue ever for me. I'm glad your effort has made some progress at least though.
I had my Bronco in for the door...
