Love my 4dr Soft top. Originally wanted a 2dr but the genius's at Ford never bothered to develop a soft top for 2drs and I had no interest in having a hard top cluttering up my garage for 5 years or more. Throwing the portion over the front seats is super easy, even easier with the gas...
💯 Agree. I’ve been a car and motorcycle geek for 50+ years. I’m really not that interested in reading about the latest 700 HP pickup or 3 ton EV sedan. Cars, and to a lesser extent motorcycles have become very appliance like. But an old article about a 429 SCJ Torino Cobra or a ‘69 GTO or...
Stay away from the heavily loaded up examples with AdaptCruise control, etc. my ‘23 Big Bend Sasquatch V6 soft top has been faultless in 2 years and 17k miles. I do my own oil changes so it’s never been back to the dealer which may be part of the reason it’s been trouble free. Don’t waste...
No surprises on the EV sales... those thumping their chests on EV sales globally discount the influence of the Chinese EVs that are super cheap. What is interesting is the continued growth of Hybrid's, indicating that American's are looking for more economical and/or powerful solutions and are...
Sounds like one of the many relays under the hood triggered by the door handle pull. My '23 BB Sas makes them as well. Really creepy when you go in a dark garage at midnight and your Bornco "talks" to you because of the proximity sensors.
I thought the same but then ordered a 3-pack on Amazon. They're indistinguishable from the Ford ones and only 8 bucks for a 3 pack. I replace the drain plug every 2nd oil change, my rationale is they're plastic and plastic becomes brittle with age and heat. Cheap insurance.
WOW! The new one is gorgeous, but available anywhere. That '66 is priceless and deserves better. Get it inside ASAP and start preserving. I'll bet that 170 six-hole under the hood will start with a battery and some starting fluid. Anvil tough. Or sell it to someone who can restore it...
By no means an authority on auto ignitions but from my motorcycle and dirt bike racing days, those look pretty close to ideal. 15k miles isn't mush of a stretch for sparkplugs these days. Unleaded gad and high energy ignitions largely solved those issues 30 years ago. I don't think I'd go...
Rapid Red, only offered for the ‘21 model year is my all time favorite. It’s what I initially ordered but Ford could not build in my specific combination. Then, to twist the knife, they discontinued my favorite color! Plan B kicked in and I took a flyer on Hot Pepper 🌶️ Red. It finally got...
I'd replace the battery and run diagnostics on the Fuel pump. Two Ford's that left me stranded, both were the in-tank electric fuel pump. One decades ago on an '88 Mustang 5.0. It was under recall, had first appeared in random hiccups on acceleration and finally died altogether on the side of...
pretty interesting. Lincoln invented the luxury SUV with the Navigator as well as the luxury sport truck with the Blackwood. One became legendary, the other is a footnote in auto history. I think Lincoln learned yiu need more than a Ford with some wood trim to justify Lincoln prices, meaning...
‘23 BB Sas 4dr V6. 19.6 not in suburban driving. Get up on the Interstate and every 5 mph over about 55 costs me about .50 mpg. 75 mph is my sweet spot, average about 18 at that speed. Over 75 the Bronco’s “brick house” aerodynamics and rolling resistance of the 35” tires kills mileage. 80...
They may be full of shit, but they’ll still deny the claim. Why would Ford pay to repair something that was modified from what they engineered, built and stand behind? They built it one way, you changed that way essentially removing them from the decision making process. I don’t blame them...
Haven't had any issues with my 2.7 Bronco, 16k miles without a hiccup. But, our '16 EcoBoost Focus ST did the same thing. Turned out to be a defect in the intake manifold allowing a massive ir (vacuum) leak that was flooding the engine with excess air under throttle. A new manifold and gasket...
Ford has lost their minds on their pricing and option strategy. The Stroppe will be doomed to languish in showrooms and eventually be blown out heavily discounted as there’s just not enough content there to justify the price. And the 2.7 is a commodity engine, why limit it to just the...
My '23 has been fine, no issues, no rattles or squeaks, everything works fine 18 months and 16k miles later. I have a soft top which with all the MIC top issues, seems to solve about half the Bronco complaints. Yes its noisy, but I knew that going in and its tolerable given the way I use it...
same. I live in Florida, way too many memories of scalded thighs and swamp ass from sitting on vinyl. I ordered a Big Bend with the two-tone cloth and added the mid pkg. for the heated seats. No regrets and 2 years later the cloth still looks great. When they start to look tired I’ll...
Won't happen. They Coyote is a huge engine exterior dimension wise and an expensive one to produce. If e ever see a V8 Bronco, it will likely be a version of the truck 6.2L/7.3L Gas engines. Their compact size and inexpensive architecture plus tons of torque would be a great fit for the Bronco.
I have a ‘23 Big Bend Sas and generally agree. Except on the grill. I hate the gray BB grill on mine. That will be corrected in due time. Other than the grill, I love my BB, particularly the cloth interior
