I've tried premium and ethanol-free and noticed a slight improvement in mpg's. Maybe 2-3%, if that. In our area, premium/ethanol-free costs 15-20% more, so definitely not worth using for mpg gains.
Over the last 10-15 years we've probably purchased 4-5 new vehicles. I've found my driving...
Ditto. Have a '23 SAS with OEM tires. Recommended tire pressure based on door jam sticker is 39 psi. Try to run them around 33 psi, otherwise, get excessive center tire wear. TPMS activates around 30-31 psi---usually happens on a cold morning. Once it activates have to inflate to at least...
Statistically speaking, CR's recommendation is probably right-on-the-money. However, from my perspective it's more about a person's aversion to risk---how lucky (or unlucky) they feel.
We had an OEM ext warranty pay out big $$ for a big-block diesel engine at 108k mi. about 10 years ago. From...
Some may want to consider purchasing the optional Interior/Exterior Light protection plan for $70 with their Ford Extended Warranty. If the LED Signature Lighting headlights fail they're technically not serviceable. The entire headlight and halo assembly must be replaced. Last time I checked...
If that was my Bronco I'd hope and pray it was totaled. Fair market value will be lower due to the accident and even lower due to the fact the airbags deployed.
I'd rather have it totaled and take a chance on losing some money upfront and drive a potentially new, accident-free vehicle . . . ...
Just enabled Sport mode on a manual. After a test drive definitely noticed the throttle is more responsive. As for the steering can't say I noticed much difference. A nice change was the black background behind the speedo/tach---nice to see something other than the usual blue. Made the...
Thanks for the info, good to know.
Good call by Heretic. I've worked with primarily DC circuits for many years. The quickest, most accurate way to determine whether a wire is sized properly is by checking voltage drop under max load. Charts, graphs, formulas etc. can provide a good baseline...
Those loose wires underneath the hood (near the firewall, driver's side) that support most of the Aux switch positions appear to be no larger than a 14 or 16 gauge wire, maybe smaller. I wouldn't be comfortable pushing more than 10a through them without checking voltage drop first. Temporarily...
I really feel for the OP. The $2600 the dealer charged him/her has very little to do with reality and has everything to do with a dealer that appears to prioritize greed above all else.
We were adamant about purchasing our '23 with the OEM factory tow package. I knew what we might be up...
In addition to routine brakes flushes, I also vacuum out then refill the brake reservoir with new brake fluid every year. Takes less than 5 min. Doing this R&R's roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the brake fluid in the system. Tends to prevent the brake fluid from taking on that dark, foggy appearance it...
For what it's worth, Broncos use LV (low viscosity) DOT4 brake fluid, not the standard, off-the-shelf DOT4. The brake reservoir cap says use DOT4. However, there's small imprinted text on the brake reservoir itself that specifies LV DOT4 fluid.
We occasionally rent late model cars/trucks. One of the better LK/LA implementations we experienced was on a nearly new '24 VW Jetta we rented last year. Took it on a cross-country trip. On the freeway it basically drove itself--stayed perfectly centered around every curve. As expected it...
Besides the gorgeous weather, the other thing I miss about AZ is the zero deductible glass coverage for 5-10 dollars every 6 months. Must have replaced 4 or 5 windshields while we lived there---didn't cost us a dime---got spoiled. I've since discovered each state mandates how...
Almost owned/purchased a 2dr MT Rubi (under MSRP) early last year when the Bronco ADM's were through the roof. Was within an hour of purchasing it when we discovered (fortunately) the 2dr Wranglers only had a 2k tow capacity. Had plans to tow a 2.5k teardrop, so no-go. Two weeks later we got...
We installed the Mabett/IAG type mudflaps and used them for a week or two. Finally decided we didn't like the way the mounting brackets mount to the fender and extend into the active fender well area (both front and rear). A good hit to the bracket could damage the fender. The vast majority...
I'd be livid if what happened to the OP happened to me. I try my best to never take my vehicle to the dealer unless it's a high-dollar warranty issue. If forced to visit the dealer, I go over the vehicle top to bottom after the repair, before I ever move the vehicle, checking to see 1) if the...
Gotcha. My post was just an FYI (for general consumption) that the 360 Camera was included as part of the High Pkg on our Badlands (not sure about other models). A number of previous posts gave the impression you have to have Lux to get the 360 camera.
I find it interesting that a 2.3 with a Ford Performance Tune outran a 2.7 Roush in this YT vid (run starts at 4:50).
No, not a certified, sanctioned test. However, somewhat compelling anecdotal evidence that a 2.3 does have the potential to rise above "turd" status (quoting the OP)---lol!
