  1. Considering buying new 2024 Bronco, thoughts on quality issues and problems?

I'm up to 28,600+ miles since December 8, 2022. Zero has gone wrong. I do tell people to not get a Bronco unless it has the Sasquatch package. Also get the 2.7. It's a beast, and in everyday driving it loafs along with all that power. Plus it's direct AND port injected so you don't have to worry...
  2. Info on Broncos

WOW!!! crazy s**t there. i havent even heard of those problems. thanks!
  3. Info on Broncos

I have a two year old 2022 2 door Base Sasquatch with the 2.7 and just a hair under 36,000 miles. It's my DD. I've had 3 previous 4-door Jeep Wranglers and my wife's current DD is a 4 door Wrangler. I've had no issues with the 2.7, as I was luckily out of the window of the ones produced with...
  4. Selling Ford Performance Tune and Archtype Carbon Steering Wheel

What are the specs on the steering wheel? Carbon type/finish and supplied core?
  5. Selling Ford Performance Tune and Archtype Carbon Steering Wheel

I have a ford performance tube for 2022 2.3 liter bronco. Don’t need as I’ve sold my bronco, parting out for $550. Have a brand new steering wheel from Archtype racing coming in, in 2 weeks. Selling for $950.
  6. 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 Engine vs 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 Engine... not sure which one?

Consider the 3.0 raptor engine is a 2.7 with the bore and stroke increased by 2-3 millimeters each. Other than that, it’s basically the same nano-architecture engine. except no port fuel injection in the 3.0, therefore the carbon buildup is there just like the 2.3 Perhaps this is why the ford...
  7. 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 Engine vs 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 Engine... not sure which one?

Excellent post from RagnarKan (as usual). But in the interest of giving different perspectives on engine choice, which I believe is the point of this thread, I chose the 2.7 (1) From personal experience, the GDI carbon buildup thing, Ford or others, is real and I don't like to deal with it...
  8. 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 Engine vs 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 Engine... not sure which one?

I’m not against the 2.7. One nice feature is one pedal drive which is only with the V6. I have the 2.3 auto 4door with 4.6 gearing. Couldn’t be happier. I never feel the need for another 20-30hp and some additional torque. If they offered a V8 doubling all specs would be another story. Just run...
  9. Updated 2.3L coming?

I work from home so the average trip is a short one. I usually let my vehicle get up to temp before driving, which doesn't take long in FL, and I run 93 everytime. I have had several turbo vehicles but never ran a catch can. I prefer an AOS if available. My favorite turbo was the 2.3 DIZI in...
  10. Updated 2.3L coming?

The "BIG" advantage w/the port/direct injection combo is due to the problem w/the carbon buildup on the valves w/the present direct injection system. The valves don't get washed off w/direct injection, as they do w/the port injection. So it's a combination of the best of both worlds. Toyota has...
  11. 2.3 catch can install

Hello! First time post here. I purchased the Mishimoto catch can, and got 1/2 way through the install and realized the cylinder wouldn’t allow for east emptying due to location. I ended up buying a can and when I went to gather parts for the install hit a wall with the parts I needed to make...
  12. Ford Performance DUAL catch cans for 2.7 engine now available

Interesting, so the 2.7 still has carbon issues, even with dual injection. I guess it’s not a huge issue anyway, since valves need adjustment 100-150k. Im happy with the 2.3 though. No catch can for me.
  13. Are the 2.7L engine issues a thing of the past?

Could be a mixed bag. On the Mustang Ford is reportedly only pairing the new 2.3 with the slush-box. Death of any interest in the new 2.3 if forced to take an automatic.
  14. Are the 2.7L engine issues a thing of the past?

Carbon, the 2.3 is direct injected, the 2.7 has both DI and port so it "washes" the valve. The new 2.3 will have both as well but right now it's only reported available on the new '24 Mustang but should roll-out to the other models eventually. Here's a couple of articles...
  15. Are the 2.7L engine issues a thing of the past?

Is it carbon or is it the innards of black plastic fuel tank? At least that was the issue 20 years ago with Dodge/Ram hemi engines. An annual flush of the lines was necessary
  16. Are the 2.7L engine issues a thing of the past?

We should eventually get the new 2.3 with port and direct injection from the new Mustang. That'll clear up the carbon issue but who knows if it'll be as reliable out the gate. https://fordauthority.com/2022/10/2024-ford-mustang-debuts-new-2-3l-ecoboost-engine/
  17. Placed my 2023 Bronco Order! ... Post Yours!

I do miss my BaseSquatch very much - but it came flawed - I'll hopefully enjoy the BD with the 2.7 (my base only had the 2.3) and better soft top and overall quality than my Ice Mountain bronco had.
  18. Catch can needed?

Does the 2.3 in the Bronco have a vapor separator system?
  19. Should I worry about carbon buildup on 2.3?

In the market for a 2 dr Bronco with the 2.3 and was wondering what the general consesus is regarding carbon buildup on the 2.3? I've read that it's pretty much an issue with all direct injected engines. I plan on keeping the Bronco for 10 years+ so I'm hoping carbon buildup won't be an issue or...
  20. Calling all Manual Transmission owners that have done some wiring -- any good way to get through firewall in to the engine?

I've done this plenty of time and the easiest way is wit a tube sharpened at an angle and a handle or some wraps of tape on the other end. I used a old carbon arrow, poke any grommet or seal ,feed wire thru tube and pull tube out. If not mistaken on the 2.3 manual transmission there is some...
