  1. Sneaky dealership story

I think you misunderstood his analogy. @Drex was supporting your point and that was a good analogy he made. But your frustration is understandable. I remain excited about my 22MY WT. But growing weary of time stamps, allocations, day X reservations, deadly sins, etc. I am soooo ready to...
  2. OFF ROADING AFTER HIP REPLACEMENT

Two women in my bike group had hip replacement and were back riding in 6 weeks. I am continually amazed by that. I understand riding a bike is not like getting bounced around on a trail. But it speaks to how quickly one recovers from that surgery. Best wishes for her complete recovery!
  3. The next steps, what my Bronco summer looks like...

I really enjoyed reading your positive and upbeat post @Jdyount. Glad you are so excited about the delivery and that road trip to PCH. We’ll expect reports on all 7 items (well, maybe not #4). By the way, you are way better off doing that trip in a 2021 Badlands instead of an EB!
  4. Anyone else feeling relaxed about their Bronco order?

Very relaxed at present. I have been waiting since I sold my 74 in 2017. By then Ford announced they were resurrecting the Bronco and someone made me a stupid high offer for it. Truly an offer I couldn’t refuse. But I needed another vehicle in 2017 so I got a 4Runner to last me until the...
  5. What did you order?

Lagunitas…my former favorite. Current fav is 480G from the Beer Research Institute, 8% APV, 71 IBU.
  6. What did you order?

It’s been a while. I ordered, let’s see… Wildtrak 4 door 2.7 iconic silver peace in the middle east aux switches tube running board things so my lovely wife can climb in easier modular bumper beef jerky lux 4 tires (including spare) and a steering wheel slow, painful death to cyber crooks...
  7. 2.7L, or 2.3L. Help me make the right decision.

I ordered 2.7 because, well, I want it. But I had a past experience that suggested horsepower isn’t everything. 25 years ago I went to South Africa on a 3 week consulting job. At the end, I went to a wildlife park right up by Kruger Natl Park. They put us in some kind of big old Land Rover...
  8. Ford should offer 0% Financing for 60 months

Agree with this, especially third point. Obviously, it is entirely possible to plop down down $50k in a mutual fund and offset a low interest rate on a $50k car loan. That assumes the load period is long enough to average out in a positive rate of return, which is not always the case. But...
  9. Wildtrak Bronco 2-Door in Velocity Blue and Full Graphics Decals

Really like that blue. It’s spectacular! Just not sure I would like it long term. I bought a red Tundra 6 years ago and sort of grew tired of it after a while. Four years ago I bought a silver 4Runner. Wasn’t my favorite color at the time, but over the years I liked the silver more and...
  10. Nissan Pathfinder

Yeah, I always wondered why Nissan didn’t push the Patrol in the North American market. Seems like it would be good competition for Toyota Land Cruiser. Probably too small of a pool of customers. I had a 2002 Pathfinder and it was a great vehicle. I think Toyota beat the Pathfinder into...
  11. HOLDING MY DAMN ORDER!

Standing pat on Wildtrak, 2.7, MIC, LUX, blah, blah, etc. But since I’ve been 99’ed, I will likely change a few things when MY22 order banks come out. Likely will get a color matched top and the stacked 427 Ford will be offering by then.
  12. Bronco Off-Roadeo Registration Now Open, Begins June 28 in Texas

Wow, that web site is a beating. I’m still waiting on them to verify my order. Interesting that the event is near Horseshoe Bay. My wife and I have been looking at homes there for retirement. We moved from Austin to Phoenix 23 years ago and have been considering moving back. If she wants...
  13. Just me or has the Bronco hype hit a wall?

I’m still as excited as ever, particularly since I knew I’d be MY22 anyway. I think the hype will return to this site when posters start to receive their Broncos and start threads describing their experiences. I’m really anxious to hear some of the early reports from you folks.
  14. Baja Designs Lighting Kits Launched For 2021 Bronco

I want to make sure I am understanding. The “Fog Pocket Kit” is intended to fit in the space on the OEM heavy duty modular bumper. Is that correct? Seems like a dumb question, but the Baja Designs web site doesn’t exactly say that. For example, maybe it’s intended to fit the stock bumper...
  15. 4 hours to E day... what's your breaking point?

In the survey, I answered Q3 2022. But I’ll be in the Bronco wait mode until the bitter end when the dealer says it’s ready. I was hoping for 22MY anyway to take advantage of body color top and maybe a few other future accessories not available in 2021. TLDR: Any time in 2022 okay for me.
  16. What are everyones thoughts/plans on first mods?

    One more vote for this.
  17. Anyone taught their wife to drive a Manual Trans?

Not only did I try (and fail) to teach my wife how to drive a manual, she even has a problem figuring gears on a bicycle. Going up a hill on her bike she will leave it in the highest gear and really start to struggle...and STILL not down shift. It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen with an...
  18. Is anyone else cancelling and getting the F150 Lightning?

Agree with this. A government program can totally turn upside down the economics of an industry. Ask any refining company about RINS in the Renewable Fuels Standard Program. Having said that, I did put in a reservation toward the end of the Lightning reveal. Will probably cancel, but with...
  19. I couldn't handle the wait...

Nice! Looks like you have a great place for that resto. What I really like is the lift you are using. That would have made my resto so much easier. What I learned on that project is that no problem is so bad that it can’t be solved by throwing more money at it!
  20. 2022 Order Bank Date?

Here is a quote from a May 8, 2021 e-mail that my dealer sent to me. ”Your reservation will be moved to an order bank this fall for a 2022 Bronco that will arrive after the first of the year. Sometime in the fall I will reach out to you to confirm your build.” Not real specific but the general...
