  1. Getting Despondent

There's a sucker born every minute? The Bronco reservation scheme is about sales/marketing strategy as much as anything else. But wait, there's more. Reserve your F150 Lightning and Maverick. Hurry, before it's too late! ;) And yes there is a lot of huffing/puffing, but it's all the arguing and...
  2. Getting Despondent

My first car was a 1965 Ford Mustang. I heard it was mildly popular when introduced. :) Did Ford issue reservations in 1963 a year out? I've owned open top Jeeps for decades. Jeep sold 240,000+ Wranglers in 2018 when the redesigned JL was introduced. I don't recall many Jeep guys sitting around...
  3. Getting Despondent

The whole reservation thing is a complete turnoff for me, and not something I anticipated when Ford first indicated Bronco would be returning. And now that marketing/sales model has spread to F150 Lighting and Maverick? If Ford's target customer is some cat reserving "his and her" Broncos a...
  4. Sneaky dealership story

This is like everything that is wrong with the reservation klugefest. Some Hyundai Tucson driving guy reserves "his and her" Broncos ... because. And now is upset one of the reservations he doesn't even want anymore, will not be used as he desires. And you're suggesting he should have bogarted...
  5. Sneaky dealership story

Bronco enthusiast? Any joe shmoe could have made a reservation. Reservation is just reservation. Some reservation holder "enthusiasts" will be driving Sas Broncos exclusively to the grocery store, lol. I hope as the months go by, Broncos start becoming available outside of the reservation system...
  6. Broncos showing up at dealers

Absolutely there will be Broncos for sale on the lots or for certain orders before every single reservation is filled. Not many at first, but as time goes by yes. It's just the nature of production runs. As the months add up, Ford will have extra vehicles from various productions runs, based on...
  7. MotorTrend talks about Bronco/Bronco Sport Naming Confusion

Yep and even when Jeep released the pickup version of the Wrangler, they used a different name (Gladiator). For the record, I like the Bronco Sport, and in terms of actual functionality usage, it's probably a better fit for some big Bronco buyers. The thing is, even when I stopped at the...
  8. Any info out there on 2022 Bronco options yet?

Dang, a key selling point for the manual base 2-door, for me was the 30k price. If that shifts up significantly higher, it could impact my decision to buy.
  9. Changing Dealers if Bumped to MY22… HATE my Dealer

Oh man, I don't want that sort of aggravation in my life. Good you told them no way. The thing is, people are paying that and worse. I know people like that, bad with money, or must have some item, and they pay for it. I guess it makes sense a dealer will throw the harpoon, maybe they hit a...
  10. The next steps, what my Bronco summer looks like...

Good to hear. Even better than an off-road park, maybe on your trip, you can map out some reasonable trails to explore. There is a lot you can do off-road without wrecking your new Bronco. More in the line of some fantastic views and exploring on trails, maybe remote camping without a bunch of...
  11. MY23 / 2023 Delivery - Serious or Joking?

What part do you think will interfere on the 2-door Bronco? For reference, here is a photo of a soft top (I think it's OEM) folded back on a 2-door Wrangler JL. There might be other soft top designs as well, I'm not that hip on the newer Wranglers. I bet Ford or aftermarket will have a soft top...
  12. MY23 / 2023 Delivery - Serious or Joking?

Really? I haven't in-person touched, heard or driven a 2-door Bronco. Have you guys all already had test drives? When Ford can put one in front of me for those things, then I'll make an informed decision to buy or not.
  13. Bronco Mass Production - 6/10 Update. Good news from MAP - body shop output now matches Ranger

Some folks have the Ford "fast pass". Like when people pay extra to cut in front of you at the amusement park. ;) Which by the way, it's interesting how we can take something (line cutting) that was socially unacceptable, monetize it into a product for sale, and suddenly it's socially...
  14. 2021 Bronco workshop manual now live

Welcome to the "filled for life" automatic transmissions. One owners idea of "life" can be much different than another. Has Ford provided an expected service life for the 10R60? It can be a pain to change fluid in these things. Long term owners will care a lot more about this than short term.
  15. Anyone else feeling relaxed about their Bronco order?

Beware you guys are reading the 99 order upside down. What's really happening over at Ford Headquarters ... ;)
  16. MY23 / 2023 Delivery - Serious or Joking?

I'm a non-reservation holder, who buys real vehicles to be seen in person and test driven before buying. So the key for me is when Ford transitions from this reservation cr*p, and starts providing vehicles in dealerships for customers to evaluate and order in a timely manner. Hopefully after...
  17. Anyone else feeling relaxed about their Bronco order?

The top doesn't come off your 4Runner.
  18. Edmunds Listings Show Broncos Available at Dealerships

Will Ford be adjusting Bronco production lines the next 12 months, to exclusively produce reserved units? Will they stop a version run simply because they hit a reserved limit? I doubt it. My guess, Ford will try to produce the reserved units, but in the process will build excess units, which...
  19. Continue to Get my Basesquatch?

Good advice. Unless the OP has a particular real use case requiring the Sas components and 35s, the alternate config mentioned should also be a lot of fun and capable. Getting him anywhere he likely wants in top down/doors off style, and at a better price point for his financial situation.
