I was throwing a code (CEL off though) because there was a module installed that did not have an initial configuration. So the programming (I believe) is just to tell the CPU that the module is there so that it can detect when you have a trailer plugged in and allow the trailer lights to work.

In my instance, the dealer installed the tow package but did not update the programming. So I ended up programming it myself anyway, and wish I would've just DIYed it lol

I installed mine yesterday. I only had issues with the lower left nut insert, but eventually was able to get it to tighten up. Overall, pretty satisfied with the install, and I'll give it a good test this weekend on my trip.
