Yes, the Base and Big Bend are about 300 lbs lighter. The OBX saves about 200 lbs compared to an auto BD.
  2. 🏁 Acceleration Track Test : Bronco 2.7L and 2.3L versus Jeep Wrangler 3.6L [Car and Driver]

For me, it helps to understand that's it's good enough to be livable on daily driving. for example, let's say it got to 60 in 10 seconds, that might feel pretty anemic. It doesn't matter whether I can beat a Jeep on the drag strip though.
  3. 🏁 Acceleration Track Test : Bronco 2.7L and 2.3L versus Jeep Wrangler 3.6L [Car and Driver]

Put the shifter into manual mode and select 2nd. I believe you can select 1st or 2nd but not 3rd to start.
  4. 🏁 Acceleration Track Test : Bronco 2.7L and 2.3L versus Jeep Wrangler 3.6L [Car and Driver]

0-60 of 7.0 seconds and 1/4 mile at 15.5 for the two door Black Diamond with a 2.3 and a manual. That certainly respectable and quick enough for this type of vehicle. Looks good.
  5. 🏁 Acceleration Track Test : Bronco 2.7L and 2.3L versus Jeep Wrangler 3.6L [Car and Driver]

I think that's the data they had in house. don't think this is meant to be a head to head comparo. Just an fyi to give us an idea of the acceleration of the two vehicles in this segment.
  6. Base Bronco on 33" KO2 tires & 17" Method 701 wheels

Sweet ride. Those wheels make your "base" look like a top of the line model.
  7. Delivered 2.3L Manual Bronco Black Diamond owner's review: the Good and the Bad

Thank you for the write up. It's always encouraging to hear that the 2.3 is up to the task. Appreciate the info on hill start assist. Personally, I prefer old school hill start assist where they actually give you a hand brake that you can use. But I guess I need to embrace current technology...
  8. Took delivery yesterday: Timeline, MIC Top Inspection, Impressions of Big Bend 2.7L

I'm with you. I could stand for a couple more retro touches like an actual lever for the transfer case. Given you can still get the stick, having that would be cool as well. Also could stand to have a more traditional gauge cluster. Still such a cool vehicle though.
  9. Took delivery yesterday: Timeline, MIC Top Inspection, Impressions of Big Bend 2.7L

Thank you for your post. I'm looking at the 2 door version of your Bronco, so it's great to see your pics. I share your thoughts on the push button start. To me, that seems totally unnecessary. Furthermore, having a keyed ignition gave me a place to put my keys when in the car. Now I have to...
  10. Good POV Impressions Video on the Bronco Manual 7MT and Crawler Gear

Yes, if you like the Cyber Orange, that goes great on the Badlands. Frankly, I'd prefer they not bring the exterior color onto the doors. Some of them clash with the orange highlights. I was leaning toward black if I were to get a Badlands because of the highlights.

@Waiting for 4th Bronco It's a Badlands with the optional wheels on 33's.

What's your impression of the plastic steering wheel? Is it super hard or does it have some give to it?
  14. 2 Door BaseSquatch Delivered. Timeline, Q & A, Notes From First 100 miles

That's the value package right there. Super capable with the 2.7 power for a decent price. And you get the best emblem in my view.
  15. 2 Door Bronco Outer Banks w/ Retro Decals (and steel fenders and almost every possible roof rack option)

I love the stripes. Makes me want to get a white one. But it's probably my age. I feel like this is the type of rig I would have seen in an episode of CHiPs.

  18. Video: 4 Door Badlands Manual Review & Crawler Gear Demo 🙃

Yeah, it looks like you'll save about 240 lbs going to the 2 door Badlands. If the 4 cyl w/ Manual is good there, that's a sweet machine.
  19. Video: 4 Door Badlands Manual Review & Crawler Gear Demo 🙃

It's encouraging that he feels the 2.3 manual has enough power for a 4 door Badlands at 4945 lbs. That makes me think a 2 door Big Bend would be even peppier at 4,297 lbs.
  20. BaseSquatch 2-Door ARRIVED! [Pictures, Thoughts, & Tacoma TRD Pro Comparison]

Basesquatch and the 2.7. Ignoring dealer add on and profit, that's a heck of a machine for the money.
