  1. Can a manual transmission be tuned?

No, there is nothing to tune in a manual transmission (from the standpoint of the ECU affecting the transmission), however, everything else can be tuned.
  2. What would be an epic birthday surprise for you from Ford?

Any epic birthday surprise should include a leprechaun, a unicorn, and a bag of money... Just saying what a wise man told me.
  3. Why do I think the Bronco 2.7 is "de-tuned" in the Bronco?

Just remember, raybestos is already putting out severe duty clutch packs and steels for the 10R60, so this isn't really an issue, but there is a way to protect the transmission without resorting to new internal parts... Add a huge ass transmission cooler.... Because heat is what kills automatic...
  4. Why do I think the Bronco 2.7 is "de-tuned" in the Bronco?

Well, that wasn't an 11 second pass... It was a 13 second pass @ 101 MPH trap speed, which is respectable. The bottom line is that either the motor is detuned, or the converter is locking up too early, or both.
  5. 🏁 Acceleration Track Test : Bronco 2.7L and 2.3L versus Jeep Wrangler 3.6L [Car and Driver]

All I know is that if it doesn't make enough power, it won't be much effort to add more. For all those people crying about the 10R60, there are upgraded transmission packs already available for them as well. It's going to be fine... and I suspect much can be resolved with simply flashing the...
  6. 8/2 build Week Thread

Don't worry, it will probably be mine... I don't have a sticker yet, and I won't be butthurt.
  7. 8/2 build Week Thread

Congratulations, I can't be too far behind you. It's a nice build. It took a moment to figure out your whole VIN, but there was enough there to work it out.
  8. 16-Aug-21 Build Date Gone.

Well, if your dealer is telling the truth, you might be able see the dates in this tracker. Because the dates are likely to be in there. It's not likely, but there could be a discrepancy...
  9. At what speed and distance can you Flat Tow the Bronco behind an RV?

As long as everything is in neutral (no transmission load) the distance and speeds are probably limited more by your personal bravery than any mechanical limitation. (one caveat, if you lock the axles - accidentally or intentionally - all bets are off... because that will get ugly quick).
  10. Just test drove a 2 Door WT ... Eh! Some disappointing discoveries.

Well considering that the circular error of probability would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 meters using the correct platform, you would probably be ok if something relatively modern... You should be ok. :P
  11. Bronco 2.3L versus Wrangler 3.6L then faces up against a Ram

The problem is obvious, the 2.7 is being limited by the tuning and transmission strategies used to reduce the power in 1st gear (this is nearly certainty) and the early lockup of the torque converter. If they allowed the torque converter to stall at 2500-3000 rpm, then the turbos would spool...
  12. Who's a 7/19 build?

Yes. That happened to me yesterday.
  13. Just test drove a 2 Door WT ... Eh! Some disappointing discoveries.

So what you are saying is that you need a drone strike called in on CARB headquarters???
  14. 8/2 build Week Thread

Went into "in production" 2 days ago, but still no sticker.
  15. 🏁 Acceleration Track Test : Bronco 2.7L and 2.3L versus Jeep Wrangler 3.6L [Car and Driver]

I don't know about you, but I am planning on putting some 25" Nitto drag radials on all 4 corners using stock OBX rims and then going street racing... Just because I can!!!! LOL. Of course, my 33.5"x12.5" tires will still be my off-roading tires.
  16. 🏁 Acceleration Track Test : Bronco 2.7L and 2.3L versus Jeep Wrangler 3.6L [Car and Driver]

Exactly, the OBX is about 440 lbs lighter than the FE, has less unsprung weight, and should (with the 4.27:1 ratio) be the quickest of the Bronco family 0-60 and 1/4 mile (although the base V-6 with 3.73 might be faster assuming that the lower overall weight provides it with enough advantage -...
  17. Got it today! 2-Door Lightning Blue FE - Las Vegas

I know, this is impossible... what kind of sway does the mob in Vegas have to make something like this happen!?!
  18. Tuning of 2.7L Looks to be Limited

I did a little digging today and there looks to be a couple of possibilities with regard to not destroying these transmissions. The first thing, naturally, is heat... Heat is the number one killer of these transmissions (and most automatic transmissions) short of snapping hard parts. In...
  19. First Edition ordered and still no build date.

LOL, that's a bunch of horseshit.
  20. The Definitive Guide to 2021+ Bronco Ride & Lift Heights with Wheel & Tire Sizes

Actually, with the offset and removing the crash bars, I would bet money that would would be good to go. As a matter of fact, for my OBX, I am 99% confident that the 295/70R17 Milestar Patagonia M/T (33.5"x12.5") will fit with no other changes beyond removing the crash bars. 285/70R17 should...
