Ok now I'm really confused....have I just not been paying attention? What is the difference between the MIC and the Modular tops? According to those schematics, they look identical. But the difference in name implies a...well...difference.
Is Modular the painted option?
I'm still not following how that's a good financial decision if the difference between the two dealers is any less than, let's say, $1500. And even if transportation costs you $1k, is going through that hassle really worth $500? I would probably need a few thousand to go through that scenario.
I just want to make sure I'm understanding this right.
Let's say your local dealer gives you a more-than-MSRP price (let's use $56,000 arbitrarily). If you want them to go to MSRP, say $55k, you'll skip town, go to a further dealer that offers you the $55k, and buy there? And spend an...
Welp....confirmed. Buying whatever color I damn well please and painting the roof, not vise versa. That's a bummer, but probably the cheaper way to go. (As opposed to buying white and wrapping the body)
If Ford is going to continuously take things away from the release Broncos shown (the CG with white top and CO with brown interior) then they really needed to call those two examples concepts. Calling those release models is completely misleading.
A white top should absolutely be an option and...
I'd imagine there will be a pretty strong aftermarket market on a lot of parts. No reason why grilles can't be one of those.
(But you'd think Ford would want to cut that market out and offer options on the grille)
I like this idea a lot. Just another way we can customize our creations. I'm terrible with GD but I have a couple ideas about the Black Diamond, as that's likely the trim I'll go for:
First, since the outline of the sticker is essentially a diamond shape, very simply do a white background and...
I agree with the cannibalization talk. I think the Gladiator works because Jeep didn't have a truck. Ford already has two pickups, both with off-road capability (of varying degrees). I'm not sure there's a role outside an extreme niche for a Maverick (or whatever you want to call it).
