  2. Removing Tow Hooks

Sweet! I’ll definitely have to look into this. Not sure I am skilled to do myself.
  3. Removing Tow Hooks

Okay... Look at your axle... front and rear..... see how the axle goes right to the center of the wheel? That is true with every single vehicle there is right? If you want to increase clearance (the area between the ground and the bottom of the Bronco/axle) you have to get that axle up right...
  4. 74Weld Bronco Portals now available!

If you are calculating out to the hub it would be about a 5.73.... Interesting thing though... I have not changed any of the gear ration in the procal... OR the tire size... computer still reads 4.7 and 35s.... and my speedo is darn near accurate.
  5. 74Weld Bronco Portals now available!

So question for all you smart guys out there. With the portals in the equation. What does the final drive be considered? Right now I have 4.7 in the rear and I know the portals do the gearing at the tires but what would be the equivalent rear to what we end up with at the tire? Just curious!
  6. Update: 3rd Differential lasts 2 months New Front Differential Implodes in 2 miles

Let me post the offical description of the modes and transfer case operation. This is a good read for everyone so you are not questioning whether you should or should not be driving in a particular mode. There should be zero issue using Sport mode or 4A all the time on roads if you don’t care...
  7. Complete Rear Axle Swap (M220) - In Depth DIY Video

I enjoyed the edification and knowledge gained from your and Stephanie's video. Thanks. I note you have the Icon Exp rear shocks (and I assume front, as well). I'm seriously considering those, since I want a nicer ride and only a 1 inch or so lift for my 33" tires (OBX). Are you pleased with...
  8. Complete Rear Axle Swap (M220) - In Depth DIY Video

Hey guys here's a video of my wife and I removing the M220 rear axle and swapping in a "new" one. It's the second video in our series on re-gearing and axle-swapping our '21 Ford Bronco Base. This video covers the process, in-depth, of removing and and re-installing the M220 rear axle assembly...
  9. Why Doesn't Ford use 35" KO2s on Sasquatch instead of Goodyears?

This looks good. I'm interested to hear more about this setup. Are these still 17" wheels? offset? It doesn't look like a lift; are they just stuffed under the stock suspension? Rubbing? What gearing is your rear end and any observations on low end with the 37s? Is it Sas or MT (4.7)...
  10. Engine power issues with 37's?

A Jeep (particularly the 3.6L) cannot handle 37's without re-gearing and even then it is a struggle if at altitude. I had 4.88 gears at sea level and 5.13 at 7K feet. You have 4.7 gears and an engine that produces plenty of torque. I think you will be fine.
  11. Engine power issues with 37's?

The Jeep probably has worse gearing. I did feel a big performance drop going to 37s. Premium helped a little, but I'm mostly just adapted to it now.
  12. Oh Snap! A Steering Upgrade Options & Considerations Write-Up

I appreciate your input. I have a 4 door, 2023 Badlands Sasquatch with the 2.7l engine. I noticed you mention you wouldn’t necessarily upgrade any of this stuff on the factory Sasquatch; however, do you believe steering should still be upgraded if you still keep the 35 tire diameter but it...
  13. 3.73 Gear Ratio for mostly daily driving & uphill driveway snow ice a couple days a year?

Yes. OP, the rear locker will be useless for you (as it probably is for most people). And you're not going to want to engage it on ice and go sideways. Maybe a case could be made for the deeper gearing, think about if you might want larger diameter tires at some point. Also someone mentioned...
  14. 74Weld Bronco Portals now available!

The ride on the bilsteins is acceptable. It has all the usual characteristics of the stock sasquatch suspension, noticeable brake dive, noticeable front end lift on accel, soft and flexy. All these characteristics seem exagerated by the portals/40s combo, whether it is the additional unsprung...
  15. 74Weld Bronco Portals now available!

How's the rub on the tires? I need to order and still on the fence. Went to finish this afternoon and found that I was shorted the banjo bolts for the rear brakes🤬 so order them and will have Monday, of course no one had local. Hope to put her in her tires Monday night or Tuesday at the...
  16. Locking axles recommendations?

Yup, this is what I found as well. You can add a locker to the standard (non-ELD) Bronco rear end, but there were three things that made it not worth it for me - You weren't really saving any money over just buying an entire new rear end - the lockers are not cheap, and you need an entire new...
  17. Locking axles recommendations?

When you upgrade the Non-Sas OBX to a rear locker, yes, it becomes a 4.27 rear end. The front gearing would have to match OEM. I did that.
  18. 74Weld Bronco Portals now available!

Woot! What did you do about the gearing w/manual?
  19. 3.73 vs 4.27 and RLD

This is true - all the aftermarket stuff is going to be aimed at the ELD-fitted rigs. And just about everything about the ELD-fitted rear end is just-different-enough from the standard one. Kind of like most of the aftermarket stuff is geared towards the MIC hard top, the Modular bumper, etc.
  20. 3.73 vs 4.27 and RLD

You want the 4.27 with a locker for other reasons than gearing. The 4.27 gears are not welded to the carrier and you get different length rear shafts with the locker. Long term servicing will be cheaper and parts more available for locking rear end as most of the broncos made have a rear locker...
