Not sure those estimates are pessimistic enough. There are many day 1 hardtop res holders that are now Q1/2 2022, I'm a day 3 res and I'm just hoping to see mine before the end of next summer at this rate.
Welcome to the club, there are many first day 2 door reservation holders that won’t see theirs until next year.
I’m a 7/15 2 door reservation holder and I’m just hoping to see mine before the end of next summer at this rate 🤣
Doesn't help if Ford won't sell me a 2 door because they can't put a hardtop on it.
They've already said they won't offer a soft top on the 2 door, and there's no way they'll ship it with no top at all, so that means I can't get a 2 door bronco to put the soft top on....
So, this seems to imply that hardtop issues will extend well into next year, does that mean 2 doors are going to be vaporware until 2023? If so I'll go buy a jeep and trade it in whenever the bronco becomes actually available.
Regardless of any other features, the Bronco is definitely better for tall people though, in Jeep’s my head is above the roll bar, so in a rollover I’d be dead. The Bronco I’m at least slightly below the roll bar, that alone makes the case for me.
that’s fair. My current truck is pretty spry with the 2.7, which makes me want to go that way, but I’m not too sure about the 10 speed (mine has the 6r80)
One of my last Broncos was manual and was similar. It’s less about situations in 4 low, but just the convenience of having a granny low...
It’s entirely possible this will be the last gas car I buy, so the manual just exemplifies that for me.
compared to the 2.7 auto it is also almost 200 lbs less over the front axle, and a lot less stuff underneath to snag on things (plus no plastic transmission pan).
for the kind of off roading...
This is kind of my feeling. In no small part driven by the fact that when I sit in a Jeep my head is above the rollbar….
outside of Jeep and the Bronco, there aren’t really any other competitors in the segment I care about.
Found the source of the sticker saying the manual transmission (mti550) is built in the USA.
I disagree, so long as you don't add a locker to it.
In fact I did a detailed examination on this very topic.
Here's an excerpt
"Tl;dr. If you blow the differential or axle shafts, it...
I had the same dilemma, but once I realized the mod bumper didn’t come with more than just the front skid plate, I removed it from my order. Can get the 4wp bumper and front skid plate for only a few hundred more than the mod bumper option and have a much stronger bumper with a real bull bar.
