I've had good success with CD ROMS. I just print the pages that I what to have as a do a job. Then I can write on them get them all greasy etc and it doesn't matter because I have a clean original.
My experience is with PDFs though. Requiring windows seems pretty lame. I hope they still support...
They've shown their true colors in terms of how they want to treat customers.
Only you can decided how you want to react. I would walk and and take my custom truck business elsewhere if that were an option.
Others may feel that what they are doing is no problem and they are pricing vehicles...
I wish I was that optimistic.
I think it's much easier to apply pressure tactics and force someone into a decision they would otherwise not make in person.
I would say - get everything in writing, agree on price. If a deposit is required then agree on when it will be refunded (above agreed...
I'm in that area. I sent an email to a bunch of dealers in 2020 asking about making a Bronco reservation and agreeing in price beforehand. Not one was interested in making any kind of commitment. Most didn't even respond. Those that did would not make any type of financial commitment.
BTW it's...
This is a good analysis. The problem with it, from my perspective, is that it does not have any incentives to reward "good" dealers. Also the notion of a "sold" unit vs that of a showroom unit needs to be addressed. A sold unit should be be more important than a "floor" unit if you are customer...
Careful. A reservation does not assure price. It assures a small inflation credit on whatever the dealer decides you have to pay. Also, based on what I have seen I would want explicit language saying that any deposit is refundable if the vehicle is not delivered in some timeframe and that the...
@Zach@Granger
For those of us looking at 2024/2025 who have converted our orders, what do we have to do to stay in the system. I guess Ford has implemented some kind of trap door where if we do nothing we will automatically get canceled?
I did. Works fine when ordering a Jeep. I just need to decide on a color today and I'll have an order in for a "limited supply" 392 Rubicon. Easy peasy. I didn't have to ask about allocations, supply chain, current order book, etc. I may have to wait a couple of months for delivery.
This is...
I think you have it completely backwards. Grainger isn't taking me from my local dealer. My local dealer is pushing me to Grainger (or other dealers). Ford is trying to strong-arm me back to my local dealer. Rather than strong-arm me they should look to the root cause of the problem. They should...
Ha, that's going to be a mess. I can see it now. I get a call in 2025 saying both my Broncos are in, when do I want to pick them up and I say, "huh - what Broncos? the ones I reserved in 2020 and ordered in 2021?" Dealer says, "yes, Ford has been automatically re-ordering them for you every year."
There's been some evidence that the answer to this is no. At least one example was recently posted where Ford was involved and it seems, from the info provided, that Ford basically told the customer to pound sand. The dealer can do whatever they want....
I really want to believe that we just...
Actually it is pretty easy. In the last 12 or so hours I've ruled out my local dealer, who was very responsive in telling me they wanted an ADM that didn't work for me and I have started conversations with two out of state dealers who seem to have reasonable terms. I'm sure I'll have my order...
Ha, strange opinion here. I specifically chose Grainger over my local dealer. Grainger didn't choose me. My local dealer didn't want my business at MSRP or lower.
Why do you feel that Ford should be able to choose what dealer I select? My local dealer is out, too bad too, their parts department...
It used to be the case that 37s required 35 spline axle shafts and at least a 9" ring and pinion in the rear and maybe a 8.8 in the front.
Have the new OEM axles really come that far?
