To do it all over again, would you still mount the kicker key under the steering column, or would you pick an alternate location like above the glove box? I finally found a Key 200.4 in stock and plan on installing sometime next week. I’ve been following your videos and posts here on b6g. You...
Connect both sides.
Just pay attention when you remove the fake amp and sub which wires are + and -
You can reuse the factory sub connector. It already has 4 wires (2 for each side).
Fat plug is positive. I cut them off, stripped the wires and used the spring connections in the kicker.
Back in June, I purchased KIT 11-1 KICKER KEY 180/200,4 HARNESS ONLY.
Can I just unwrap the harness, snip the power and ground wires and run them directly?
No clue what I'm doing, so want to be certain it might be as easy as that.
Thank you for this. Confirms my installation.
Not sure it's worth the effort, but I might try and either extend the seat belt guide attachment point with longer bolt and spacer, or come up with a different bracket to attach the pods. Ideally I'd prefer to alter the pods so they clear the seat...
Thanks, curious what you find.
My seat belt guide on the rear d-pillar can't rotate fully without hitting the pod.
Not sure if in a crash this would be an issue. Maybe not??
With kids riding in the rear, I'm probably being overly cautious.
Same boat here. Planning on picking up a key 200.4 once they are back in stock.
I have Kicker KS speakers waiting on the shelf to install in the dash and kick, but to be honest ,it sounds so much better after installing the Fusion amp/Kicker 6.75 4-ohm and Mabett pods with Kicker KS 6.65 that...
Having same issue installing on a 2 door.
I used a smaller spacer instead of a longer bolt.
Like to know if anyone has found a solution to the enclosure interfering with the seat belt guide.
I went with Lange Originals Hoist a Top.
Uses the roof rail attachment points, and the power hoist makes it a breeze.
Plan on leaving it off most of the summer, but will probably put it back on during really hot days.
Considering JTops mesh bimini, but no plans to purchase a soft top.
