The simple answer is because of the angle of the dangle the struts resistance is less, the closer to the down position the hood gets. When I designed the hood shocks for the early bronco I designed them to push down on the hood for the last couple of inches because of the above concerns. once...

If the bronco had gone down in value instead of up would the dealer insisted the the buyer pay msrp? I think they would have. So in the end the buyer guaranteed the dealer a profit. And took his deposit. The msrp is the std. price and it that was not going to be the end price they should have...

I made the first good shocks for the early bronco and sold them for many years and had very few failures. And the hood can not pop up because of the hood shocks because of the safety latch and I designed mine to push the hood down at the very last few inch’s.

I was on the phone when the order line opened but did not get through to order until after 11 pm I was trying for a FE but finally got a FT. I called ford today and they checked on my order made 2/2 and they said they had it and all was in order and to check back in mid May.
