I have to agree with Hoosier. While I like the spirit of what they designed (2 door, no frills, light weight, removable top) and actually looks off road capable, the actual design looks like it hasn't been designed at all. Like an unfinished clay model that they slapped some sheetmetal over...
Agree even turbo V6 powering the Ford GT now. It's the wave of the future for Ford. I bet, sadly, the next Mustang is going to have it as standard too, hopefully in addition to and not as a replacement for the Coyote. Hopefully being a relatively small volume vehicle as the Bronco is sure to be...
Too many Ford styling cues I'd say. Why bother building a bronco if it will just look like everything else in their current lineup. I like the boxy look too, they shouldn't make it too refined.
They could see how the Ranger goes first, but I would assume that part of the new platform budgeting includes spreading the costs/investment with another vehicle (presumably the Bronco). The two are going to be produced at the same plant too so they go hand in hand. It makes a new Bronco more...
Things constantly change but this is an agreement by Ford that it has committed $9B for products to be built by UAW over the course of 5 years. It really has no bearing on whether the Bronco will definitely be built since it makes no mention of it by name, but investments will have been made...
Shoulda never been discontinued in the first place. Why'd it take so long anyway for Ford to bring it back? They dropped that concept in 2004 while the ecnoomy was still hot so why didn't it get its revival back then.
