My plan is to make my own skids for the lower control arms. I would of made my own belly skids but I am currently on my way to Moab Easter safari and didn’t have enough time. Here’s the bumper I made.
Got my skid plate system just in time on my base model. I’m going to Moab this Friday. I also ordered the gas tank skid plate also from JCR but it hasn’t been sent yet. They did send me an email letting me know they didn’t ship it yet. Install was smooth. Just followed the video from YouTube...
Well I don't think I fooled anybody with the red primer...I thought someone might. Went with black to match fender flares and wheels. One thing I never took a pic of when I was building it is the loops for safety chains for a trailer for the a future project I have planned. I have been paint...
Pretty much done fabricating and now just a bunch of welding. Hopefully painting tomorrow. The part in the middle of the bumper unbolts for the nuts on the rear most cross member for the trailer hitch mount.
My hope my sliders will protect my doors / lower body area. My sliders stick out past the door handles. I purposely started my build on my rock sliders for the protection I hope they will provide from rocks kicked up from tires and door dings. This isn't really a DIY thing that a lot of other...
Nope, I’m not that advanced yet.:D I am saving my templates and my brother is talking about converting them to CNC plasma cut them out as a kit for other people.
Started working on my bumper this weekend. My bumper will have an integrated hitch. Should give me a little extra clearance on my departure angle. Made out of 1/8” plate. Should be done fairly soon because most of the design is done and just need to use my templates to cut the other side.
Yeah I imagine there would be an increase of road noise also. But I have never tried doing it so I have no idea what would actually happen. I think the is enough meat to make the front of the sliders to the frame body mounts to make them sturdier. I’ll figure it before my trip to Moab in April...
I don't want to lift just one side with the lift because I think that is a no-no. I started out wanting to bolt them on but after looking at it when up on the hoist I came to the conclusion that there is nothing that would ever need them to be removed. Frame is not quite thick enough to tap it...
@LockedBronco here is some more pics. The 1”OD tubes go to the bottom and the top of the frame rails where I could. The very front tie in points are not super strong because of how the front frame body mounts that come off don’t give you a place to weld tubes to without blocking the bolts that...
