I tried mcguardās black lugs, they cant hold the center cap on the steelies as the lugs are too slim and donāt have that wide bulge the Ford oem do
These https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=All-Terrain+T%2FA+KO2&partnum=405R7KO2RWL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes are D rated. But they are expensive af too, $2k just for tires is steep
Makes sense though, all 2-doors already have a hard top so the market of people who have a two door and want to buy a second hardtop is going to be dramatically smaller than soft top 4 door owners who want a hard top.
FYI for people here with the stock BD steelies, the center cap (plastic with the bronco logo) is held on by the midline bulge on the Ford lugs.
So the McGard lugs which are almost definitely a better design but lack that bulge/lip cannot hold the cap on. Just fyi for people, you'll need a...
1.49 is for their ācar buying serviceā but 1.99 for 60 is their new car rate. Penfed is great, highly recommend at least walking into the dealer with a pre-approved draft in hand
There are some dirt fire roads out in exeter in acadia state park, and old voluntown road turns into a rocky muddy mess going into ct
But yeah nothing really challenging at all. Have to go to vt/nh for that (or maybe western mass)
Vermont too, nh and vt have hundreds of miles of āclass 4ā roads, which are basically unmaintained dirt tracks that any registered vehicle can drive on. They range from decent dirt roads to gnarly messes though so probably best to go with locals (or recovery equipment)
Ah so you have like an extra inch on the inner face of the tire to play with then. Interesting. I still think 295/70 will fit on the stock wheel but the UCA will be close and might rub if aired way down. We'll see!
What is the offset on those wheels?
Iām going to toss those same tires, same size on the stock steelies and figure out how to fix any rubbing from there. Wonder how the offset difference affects things
I'm in southern new england which in recent years gets more winter rain than snow, but I took it up to Maine for the holiday and the soft top was fine in the 2-4 inches of snow it was hit by while we were up there.
The wind noise on the highway is a lot though. Don't let anyone tell you...
