You can't go wrong with the base in any configuration. Think of how fun 4wd can be without lockers, especially in soft sand and mud. The slipping wheels can make it so much more adventurous.

Absolutely true for the base model, where it's impossible to grab that which doesn't exist. The Bronco bolts (screws) are fortunately there, so options abound.
