Thanks for the responses. I took it to my dealership yesterday and they are covering the repainting the hinges and pads.

Maybe damaged prior to delivery?!? I have only had it 6 weeks. I thought I t was odd that I hadn't seen anyone else post about this if it was a consistent problem.

I noticed the paint on my tailgate hinge stop was chipped off the other day. When the tailgate opens if you don't do it carefully the piston doesn't prevent it from hitting the painted cast aluminum stop. Where I park is a bit of a side hill so with the weight of the tire it can easily open too...
