Madman- I wasnāt directing my comment to you; I was coming back at North 7. Apologies if you thought I was upset with your post, I wasnāt at all and saw the humor.
I participate on a few car enthusiast forums: IH8Mud (Land Crusiers), GMT400 (mid year Chevy Trucks) and a few Porsche forums...
I crossed shopped lots of different cars, including the Bronco. And your childish assertion that because I live in Solana Beach that āimageā was first is just that, childish. Why do people get personal on a forum, grow up man.
Each car I considered had attributes that were worth considering...
Oh yeah, SUV = Sport Utility Vehicle. Perhaps with my reference being mainly a Land Cruiser the emphasis feels more āutilityā than āsportā in that case.
Yeah, I kindaā knew it was more off-road oriented once the Bronco events and drive reviews started popping up. I also was disappointed when the Bronco towing capacity was announced. I have an enclosed aluminum trailer for my early 911ās which totals ~4100 lbs and exceeds the Bronco capacity...
Iām officially out. My original decision to buy a Bronco was based on the need for a comfortable daily driver. I ordered a loaded up Badlands early on Day 2. Since then all my dealer has told is to be patient through the delays. While I love the aesthetics of the Bronco Iāve come to think it...
Macan S. I first looked at a D90 but the rear cargo space in it is almost useless. The back seats donāt come anywhere close to flat when folded down and there is a step up from the rear most portion of the cargo area. My Lab really cant ride back there. Dumb design.
The Macan S drove great...
Iām also at the tipping point. Iām going to look at a Defender 90 tomorrow. I finally got to sit in a new Bronco last week. Soft top 4 door base model. The plastics all looked and felt a bit cheap to me and the reports on the MIC top arenāt instilling much confidence. I have a PC19 code so...
I received the email yesterday like many others. My spin on this is that Ford has put themselves in a tough spot. They know they have a winner with the Bronco but they have botched the release of this vehicle with all these supply constrain issues. This is Fordās fault, they simply were not...
Sold my 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser about a month ago while waiting for the Bronco. Then I bought a 1996 Chevy K1500 ZR71 pickup to hold me over. Great truck and Iāll be able to flip it if it doesnāt get used enough if the Badlands ever get to me. The K1500 can tow a lot more than the Bronco...
Iām in the same spot you are. I also have a 911 race car and knowing that the Bronco canāt tow it I just bought a 96 Chevy K1500 pickup which is rated for 6500 pounds of tow capacity.
Quail hunting in northern Baja. Getting to where we hunt involves lots of dirt āroadsā and then its really off road. My Bronco will have some Mexican pinstripes after the first weekend in the field.
