It actually worked well throughout the summer as I kept the doors off. It's held up well, and I got a good rhythm of taking it off and on. The area you highlight is a good distance off the body since it's hooked on the fender. With my Bronco being shadow black I was a bit concerned with rubbing...
I have a question, I'm not being a smarta** either, I'm just curious. What is everyone putting in these Jerry cans? I cannot imagine needing more fuel than the capacity in the gas tank these days with a 300+/- mile range. Are they for potable water? Something else?
