Unfortunately, the “trailer tow package” is just the class II hitch and associated hardware, no real suspension change AFAIK. And a class 2 hitch is only rated for 3500lbs, so unless they release a new towing package with HD suspension and a class III hitch, it’s not looking hopeful
That’s just such a dumb move... like, it can handle the torque of the 2.7, why not just design another bellhousing that works with the 2.7? I mean, shit, there’s been rumors circling for years about the possibility of a TTV6 Mustang, and this is going to be the trans in the next gen Mustang...
Yep... I’m thinking a lot of people in this thread are going to be out since the reveal, myself included ?
Ive really been trying to justify it to myself, too... but with no towing capacity, it just doesn’t work as a hauler, and with no V6 paired to the manual, it just doesn’t work as a fun...
I wanted a 120”ish WB fun rig that could also tow less than a pickup, but just enough to tow my Mustang. That’s not much to ask for, as Toyota and Land Rover have both been able to accomplish that, but I guess Ford just isn’t good enough
Yep, that was my main reason for buying it. I need something to tow my Mustang to the track, and I refuse to buy automatics. The removable top and Bronco heritage made it a no brained for me if it could fit that criteria, but alas...
Guess I’ll be going to FCA’s used market with my money... if...
And? Look at the range in towing capacities on the F series. It’s completely doable, Ford just chose not to... and in doing so, losing me and many others as customers
Look, everything else about it is cool and all, but if it can’t do what I was specifically buying it for, then I’m not going to...
I understand that, but there’s no reason they can’t offer a towing package with better suspension for towing capacity for those who don’t care as much about crawling over the biggest rock
But the LR Defender 110 has the same wheelbase as a JLU, yet it can tow 7700lbs... and that’s a vehicle in the same segment. You don’t think Jeep’s abysmal tow rating has anything to do with their lack of technology and progression? I mean, the Jeep is on a chassis of its own; it doesn’t really...
Uh, I don’t know... maybe the same way that Ford is doing every other frameless window on the car? And please, show me a single Jeep that came from factory with a removable fastback hardtop... I can show you plenty of Broncos with them
Yeah, and they also had drop down tailgates... guess what...
1. God I hate this swing gate and swinging glass. It would be so nice to have a retractable rear window and a tailgate so I wouldn’t have to make sure I have room to swing the swing gate open and then lift the glass to access anything in the back
2. I’ve also been in the “looks like a Jeep”...
Lmaooooo ? HVAC controls were going to be added into a custom center console, but after making it, I just didn’t like how it turned out. I think I’ll be going back to stock center console, so I’m going to build a solution into that.
Then again, the car doesn’t have AC, and I live in Texas, so...
