I suspect that a dual clutch transmission (like in the new Corvette) would be compatible with these autonomous features and safety requirements. It's not exactly the same as a manual, but should be able to do everything a manual can do.
I also got my production date email just now: June 7th. My reservation was 7/28, but my dealer gave me a priority slot. I also have none of the options that delay things. I got a 2.3L manual, soft top, 4 door, non-squatch, non-lux, badlands.
I ordered mine from a small dealer in a small town and they got one (I think they had 7 or 8 broncos allocated total). They called me today and told me they decided to give me the priority allocation because I was so enthusiastic about the Bronco when they talked to me :) Woot!

I feel wronged that Consumer Reports faked the roll over tests of the Suzuki Samurai (google it) and drove Suzuki cars out of the US market because of a personal vendetta. Now I can't get the Jimny in the US.
CR is biased trash.
CR has a history of extreme bias in their car reviews. They rigged tests and faked data to kill off the Suzuki Samurai / Jimny in the US.
Donut Media's video on the scandal
Only about 1.6% have none of the "deadly sins" that delay to later in '21 (i.e. only 1.6% are soft top, 2.3L engine, no Sasquatch, and no Lux). I'm starting to feel that my later July res might still get me a Bronco this year :)
If you want a manual trans BL, you can get a set of 5 LT285/75R17 for about ~$1400 and have 34" tires the same width as the stock 33" tires. I figure this is the cheapest path to mansquatch on a 2021 bronco.
Badlands is like Sasquatch on 33s. (Actually it's more than sas because it has the sway bar disconnect, advanced 4x4, and bash plates). Because Sasquatch needs the automatic, according to the build&price, BB+Sasquatch is more $$ than a manual BL. And if you add the beadlock wheels to BL...
If I can put my power system in the engine bay then I can have more space inside to fit gear and maybe even have room for a sleeping platform.
I want to plan my build and it's torture waiting so long to see one in person.
If it's not a second battery I'll be doubly sad, because I can't see any place to fit another battery. I guess I could rig up jackery or goal zero inside or something.
