  1. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

Update: my dealer had their tech drive my bronco 3 different times before they did what I said they needed to try, which was to shift from 2 to 4H and back. Even if it isn't making noise in 2, shifting to 4H and back causes the noise and vibration every single time. The tech said he thought...
  2. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

You mean on top of the private message you asked me to send a few months ago? (after which I heard nothing?)
  3. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

My dealer couldn’t feel or hear the issue, so if it happens again they asked me to come back. It’s happening all the damn time…. Yet the one day they have the vehicle it wasn’t making much noise or vibrating. Frustrating.
  4. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

Got it. What’s the cost of the actuator? Are there 2 on the front, and are they the same part number? I’m wondering if it’s an issue on one specific part, or if it’s just part of a larger issue. Is Ford warranting the part and labor, or are you just eating it?
  5. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

Doesn’t the actuator keep the hub from engaging, and without the actuator it’s locking the hub? I’m ignorant when it comes to this kind of thing (but learning). I did some google and found a 2020 thread on this site about how this exact issue was common on F150’s. There was even a few comments...
  6. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

That is great news! What’s involved in disconnecting the actuator? And what does it take to replace the actuator? What is the most direct, clearest explanation that someone can give to the dealership service guys as to what the problem is so as to help them comprehend the problem and the solution?
  7. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

I have the Black Diamond with 7mt. No 4A here! Going from 2h to 4h stops the vibration and sound immediately. Switching back to 2h causes an increase in noise, vibration, and increases the speed at which the on/off pattern occurs, then quickly returns to the new normal of noise and vibration...
  8. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

I’m getting the vibration almost 100% of the time now. But, I noticed that when I accelerate the vibration goes away a little, and returns when I let off the gas.
  9. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

My girlfriend doesn't notice that her suspension in her car is totally whopped out, and she doesn't notice that the inside of her windshield is so filthy that there is a permanent haze, and the other day while riding in my bronco she asked what that noise was.... so, yes, a non-enthusiast...
  10. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

Sometimes it’s like driving over minor rumble strips. Sometimes it’s a bit loud and sounds/feels like driving on a greasier mud tires. Then sometimes it’s entirely gone. In every instance the vibration and noise goes away the second I shift into 4 wheel drive, and returns when shifted back...
  11. Leveling kit on non sas BD ?

I have a 2" front, 1" rear level kit on mine with 33" tires on the steelies. In my opinion 2" level in the front makes the front end just a bit too high. 1.5" would have made it closer to "level." If I had to do it again I would skip the level kit. Unless you are doing it yourself you are...
  12. First production aftermarket hard top (RallyTops) delivered and installed - review

Good find. Thank you. I was tempted by the price of this top vs the other tops that will hopefully be available soon and I think that the fit/finish/quality of this top just isn't there. If it had a rear wiper, or cost $2k I personally would overlook everything and I'd have one. But $4500 is...
  13. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

This morning at 65 mph I shifted into 4h. The noise went away. I shifted back to 2h and there was a whole bunch of vibration/humming that occurred along with a change in the timing of the humming, plus what I can only describe as a grinding noise, though it wasn't the kind of grinding that you...
  14. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

I have been reluctant to drive in 4H on dry pavement, but I did try it for 1/4 mile the other day and the noise did stop, though the noise is not present 100% of the time in the first place. If the ground was frozen I'd take a little trip through a farm field to test it more thoroughly but...
  15. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

I figured I’d post a video where I was finally able to catch the humming noise. If you have good ear buds you can hear it quite well.
  16. OSCILLATING HUMMING NOISE/VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, GOES AWAY IN 4H

I have noticed this exact problem in the last month. I thought it was a tire issue so I rotated them without making any difference. It hasn't been slippery so I haven't checked to see if the noise and vibration goes away in 4h but I will try it now. The fact that it is intermittent made me...
  17. Post your 2.3L Bronco Ford Performance Calibration Tune review

2021 4 door Black Diamond Manual Transmission stock exhaust Aside from installation issues that Ford Performance worked through (it took a few days) it has been great with the new tune. Once installation was sorted out, which was actually pretty quick/easy after Ford Performance reset my...
  18. Ford Performance Calibration Tune for 2.3L Bronco's AVAILABLE NOW! - Lethal Performance

Thank you, again, for your help. It's good to know it wasn't necessarily me that caused a problem. I followed directions, though the directions are not what I'd call "Idiot proof" or entirely clear. I'm surprised that the guy on the phone didn't immediately know what to do. It seems that...
  19. Ford Performance Calibration Tune for 2.3L Bronco's AVAILABLE NOW! - Lethal Performance

Thanks, that was the exact same issue I have been having. I called Ford Performance yesterday. They asked me to email pictures of the message as well as my VIN. They said it was likely a problem with drivers not being installed, and they told me sometimes it takes downloading the PC software...
  20. Ford Performance Calibration Tune for 2.3L Bronco's AVAILABLE NOW! - Lethal Performance

I’m having problems with the install. I keep getting a message saying the app can’t locate my ECU. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the software on my PC but I keep getting the same error. On my procal unit under tunes there are none at all. What am I doing wrong?
