I would definitely try adjusting the gain a but toward the rears just to the point to where you feel the soundstage move back and see how you feel. I did upgrade the rear pods to 6.5.
If you don't want to mess with Forscan, your dealer can probably do it. 2 years ago, my dealer did mine to pass...
I have the hi pass on the 200.4 off and the low pass on the sub at 80. I might try shifting the high pass on the 200.4 to 60. That way there is overlap signal to both amps between 60-80Hz. Any experts willing to weigh in on that strategy?
With the 200.4, the front speakers seem to happily...
Not sure if you mean "pound in the box" as a good thing or bad. I had the 6 speaker system and bough the Plug and Play harness. My understanding is that if you have the factory sub or B&O, it can make things more complicated if you are trying to use that wiring. But I think there are harness...
It will look basically OEM. I removed the storage bin and cut away the extra plastic and got this grill replacement on Etsy. It came with 3M tape on back but I put down a thick bead of shoo goo all the way around.

this made a tremendous difference. Boosting the gain on "AMP 2" compared to "AMP 1" brings the rear pods to life. And by reducing the "AMP 1" gain to near zero, my volume knob is now a bit higher so my subwoofer is hitting much harder.
I had the 6-speaker setup. We all know that story.
I bought:
- 4" Kicker CS dash speakers
- 6.5" Kicker CS rear pod speakers
- Kicker Key 200.4 DSP amp
- Gearshade hidden enclosure w/8" Kicker sub and Kicker Key 500.1 amp
- Kit 19.1 Harness from Plug N Play
I had no previous experience with...
This tip just totally change my sound. I have updgraded the rear pods to 6.5" coaxials and done forescan, EQ, Kicker key setup steps etc. but was still disappointed at how little sound came out of them. And, when I faded rear, it has the effect of reducing the output to my hidden sub on the...
Question. I have the 200.4 and 500.1 setup with plugnplay harnesses. When I was doing the Key 500.1 setup (playing the sweep and gain matching tracks), the sound was blasting through my main speakers. But the directions say that no sound should be audible during these steps. What am I doing wrong?
Here's a question for the Key 500.1 subwoofer amp. When I play the Key setup tracks (sweep and gain matching), they blast through my main speakers at volume 23, but the directions say that no sound will be audible during these steps. What am I doing wrong?
I disabled EQ in Forscan already. I used the Plug and play harnesses specifically for the Kicker 200.4 and 500.1 amps. I'm just thinking that the system now goes sooo loud I'd never go past 15 on the volume so maybe I should:
1. back off on the gain on the 200.4 speaker amp
2. turn up the...
Interesting. I have another question about this general setup (1 amp for speakers and one amp for sub - using the Pl;ug N play harness. Question: If I back down on the gain for the 200.4 speaker amp, that will mean I will play music at a higher volume level. Will that mean that my sub will put...
Curious what people wound up with for gain settings on the 200.4 and the 500.1. I followed the directions carefully, but I am suspicious that the gain on the 200.4 might be too high - at volume 15, it's louder than I'd ever want it.
However, I am somewhat disappointed that my 8" Kicker...
- oh this might ruffle feathers but I’m gonna say replacing the factory CAI with a $400 “kit” that includes an air filter and plastic box with a window so you can see your air filter… filtering.
