That's the joke, Jeeps and Broncos are not great vehicles on the highway in the snow at speed. Glad to hear the GOAT mode helped. I would rather be in my sedan with four snow tires in those conditions.
As a non SAS BL owner - I really appreciate the detailed write ups of these tire experiments with results and all the ongoing corrections and tweaks. Thanks!!!
Neat truck - would be fun to watch it against all the lifted Cherokees and Grand Cherokees that I see at the offroad park!
I like my doors off and top off option though for a toy truck (but perhaps not a daily commuter).
Yep, it's the MT. ASFIR alerted me to that possibility. The armor on the radius trailing arm might be a badlands without wild track thing (it appears untested on the 2.3), but, I am not sure.
Note: For the Badlands 2 door 2.3 MT.... things are different.
There is no gear crossmember arm to cover up - so don't order that part if you don't have an arm to put it on.
Also, on mine, the rear radius trailing arm has factory armor welded on already, so the ASFIR does not fit - nor does...
That sucks and not all dealers are like that.
I just picked mine up on Monday at Packey Webb Ford in Downers Grove IL, there were NO surprise add ons or hassles, just MSRP with all the price protection from the 2021 to 2022 re order.
The off-road park where I will play in mine has rocks (not too crazy though), logs, tight turns and the two door BL is practically purpose built for it. Definitely NOT staying off the rocks! The only thing fun about mud is keeping track of who owes who the most beers for winch pull outs and...
If anyone sees them together, they would know exactly what you did and why.
I think it's hilarious and perfect for the off road crowd and reminds us that some people actually buy these vehicles to have fun and laughs.
694 days - only holding on for price protection at this point - plan to flip back to Jeeps if the PP goes away with the upcoming '23 order - that I suspect will be the next thing I hear from Ford.
I getting ready to celebrate two years since I reserved a bronco - and still no information - other than they accepted my 21 to 22 conversion. If I see any 2023s driving around before I get my 2022 - I am going to be very cross - even if they are four doors with ragtops.
Glad you got it out of the woods and back to the dealer. That was the best move.
I do wonder if you (theoretically) could have installed an in-line out of tank fuel pump (like I have on my old jeep) just to get it out of there, or if the in tank failed pump would impede the flow of fuel...
I used to joke that no matter how much money you put into an old Jeep, you could never sell one for more than 14 thousand dollars.
At this point... I am hoping for the OJM (Old Jeep Mark UP) to offset the ADM - LOL.
Seriously though, where the hell is my Bronco!?
I bought a tank full of WATER or contaminated gas once (filled up, car suddenly died going down the road - shop said it looked like water and thought I had gotten bad gas). Same routine to flush it and change the plugs and it was o.k. - but the gas station denied any wrongdoing.
Any concerns that your spacer will push your CV joints to far at full droop? I read a detailed post describing how the BL and SAS had already maxed out CV joints that might not take the extra angle. I ask because I contemplate a self squatch on my BL one day.
